"Aurelia."

I moaned something unintelligible, turning so I could escape the bright light that had fallen upon my closed eyelids. I felt irritation fill me for something I could not place, something I didn't want to deal with.

"Wake up."

"Mmm," I muttered. I was not a morning person.

"Aurelia!" He said, irritated, and it was then that I recognized Elias' deep voice. My eyes shot open and his face loomed over me, a gasp leaving me. I sat up quickly, a startled yelp escaping me and he watched me with irritation.

It took me a moment to realize there was no threat and to realize that I embarrassed myself in front of him. My heart was beating erratically as he stood there gazing intently, my cheeks growing hot.

The events from last night suddenly came rushing back and I looked away from him. I couldn't help the fresh wave of hurt that washed over me.

"It's time to go, we overused our stay," he said and I nodded mutely, hating how he was standing there watching me in all of my morning glory. I couldn't help but feel self conscious of my appearance if I smelled bad or if my hair resembled a bird's nest. Then I reminded myself to give him no mind and that's what I planned on doing. After the way he stormed out last night in anger, it may be easier to give him the cold shoulder.

"Nice to see you came back," I say, looking up at him through my lashes. His expression turns dark again. Making me realize I had just said the wrong thing at the wrong time, of course my traitorous blood decided to rush to my cheeks, to clearly display how awkward I had made the situation. More words tumbled out of my mouth.
"I-I'm just going to get dressed, real quick and t-then we'll hit the road."

He simply stared at me, his expression still cold and closed off, it seemed to be he was analyzing me, searching for something, but what he had saw made his eyes blaze and his jaw clench firmly. Thankfully he didn't say anything else but walked away instead, leaving me letting out a shaky breath. As Elias stepped away from my bed and strode over to his belongings, I reluctantly pulled the covers off of my long pale legs and began to stretch. I got up to look for my bag and found it zipped and laying on the bed along with a pretty lace tank top and jeans along with ankle boots. He had packed everything already? I looked to him confused to see him grabbing his stuff before grabbing my own and heading towards the door.

I sighed before standing up, following behind him. I could only hope that today would be a better day.

As Elias checked out of our room, I grabbed an apple and a small bottle of water from the free breakfast bar. I clambered into the car as I munched on my breakfast, attempting to keep my thoughts of last night away. Such thinking would only make things more difficult.

Elias climbed in and we headed out of the lot, the silence thickening over our heads. I munched on a piece of apple and swallowed, frowning in dissatisfaction. My stomach growled for more but I kept ny mouth shut. I knew that if I said anything, Elias would possibly snap and it would have to remain that was until we were in Emily's presence.
