Breathe. Just breathe, Aurelia.

I chanted that in my mind. The rain fell hard down like bullets down the void and silent streets as I ran as fast as I could, trying to catch my breath. A few minutes ago, I had escaped, running for my life. The beasts were prowling on women as their prey and giving myself up to monsters was the last thing on my mind. I could hear the threatening sounds as they growled behind me as I ran faster. I was holding my injured leg tightly with my hand, applying pressure to it in order to stop the blood that poured down my thigh. My heavy breathing and heart were the only sounds that could be heard with the sounds of the rain that pounded down the streets along with my bare feet as they made contact with the wet ground.

I whimpered in pain, but did not scream. I knew better than that. It would do me no good. I had been running for a good while now, my legs burned and ribs ached.

"Shit!" Someone in the very distance cursed, which was followed by a startling crack of thunder echoing through the dark skies, followed by flashes of lightening. I jumped by the element of surprise and turned a corner to my left, resting my back against the brick wall.

I had grew so wary from running, my legs threatened to give out as my injury was far much worse than I thought. I grimaced as I pulled my hand away from the wound, a gasp leaving me. My hand was covered in blood. Before I had escaped, one of the monsters had hurt me, stabbing me on my right thigh. I couldn't imagine how much worse pain they intended for me. The rain felt much colder against my skin, I shivered seeing as my shirt was half ripped. I inhaled and exhaled in a slow pace, trying to calm my frantic heart. I had to be calm and collected if I wanted to escape these monsters and get out of here, which was harder to do in my condition.

"God," I cried, throwing my head back at the pain burning through my thigh as I gripped it.

Time had passed by when their footsteps could be heard nearby which meant they were close and possibly catch me. If I knew coming here to this town could get me kidnapped then I would have never came here. I couldn't let that happen again, I didn't want to end up where all the other girls are.

"Oh Aurelia. Come on out sweetheart," a husky voice called my name in a tantalizing way, I shut my eyes, holding my breath as fear as cold as ice filled my veins.

"I know you're here. I can smell your divine scent from miles away," the man, whose name is Chase said aloud. He could track my scent from miles away and he took it to advantage. I knew what I was getting into once I found out what these men were, exactly. I opened my eyes slowly and stealthily,  but carefully, walked down the street, careful to not make any noise that would lead to me.

"It doesn't have to be this hard, Aurelia. Either come on out like a good girl and we won't hurt you. Too much," he chuckles as the other men do, making a shiver roll down my spine.

I had to get out of here. It was my fault for coming to this town, for running away from my problems. I had to fend for my own when werewolves took over my home town and killed my family- including my parents when I was a baby. They didn't kill me, but spared me for a deal my parents had made with them. Tears fell down my cheeks at the memories of my old life, before werewolves were known to exist. Maybe, my life was meant to end in this way, right here, right now. Maybe it had already ended when my parents were brutally murdered when I was a child.

I had to fend for myself growing up. My aunt had taken me into her care when they died or else I wouldn't be breathing today. Sadly, the bitter thought being dead sounded more pleasing than to be man handled by these monsters.

I squeezed my eyes shut, freezing against the brick wall as I silently prayed that the monsters would leave me and not find me. I heard one of them walk, their footsteps splashing in the water puddles in the streets. When I opened my eyes again, I was met with the green eyed monster.

Chase.

The monster just stared at me, his cold hand covering my mouth. He leaned in and skimmed the tip of his nose down the side of my face, sniffing my skin. I couldn't scream, I was so terrified. He stopped just at the center of my throat where my jugular should be as I held my breath, awaiting for his next actions.

He grabbed a handful of my black curls, brought it to his nose and inhaled deeply, closing his eyes as if memorizing my scent. He pulled away abruptly, standing in front of me. His tall, muscular body was hovering over my tiny form. His blonde hair was wet, sticking to his head due to the rain as his piercing green eyes stared at mine intensely. A small smirk formed on his pink lips. The monster was captivatingly handsome, all of them were, which was even more dangerous. Looks can be deceiving and that was the case with these beasts. Each and every one of them were a devil in disguise.

"Did you really think you could escape me sweetheart?" He asked, sounding amused.

"Pl-please," I whispered.

"Tsk tsk tsk Aurelia. You should get that wound checked out. It looks pretty nasty," he said, gripping my injured thigh, making a pained gasp leave my lips.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked him, tears rolling down my cheeks.

"I missed you angel. I couldn't imagine a place without a pretty face," he smirks tauntingly.

I tried pushing him away from me with all my strength but he was a thousand times stronger than me and that angered me.

"You're a monster," I say in disgust, a desperate cry leaving my lips.

"I'm flattered sweetheart but we don't have enough time to chit chat," Chase says, stroking my cheek with his left hand. Before I could even blink, I was thrown to another man like an object.

"Let me go!" I struggled in the man's hold. A cloth was held in front of my face as strong fumes of chemicals wafted through my nose, a sudden feeling of exhaustion passing through me. I could no longer hold my eyes open as I was thrown into darkness.
