12. Inquiry

Heartina...

Hwang Tae Kyung started his formal investigation with the members of 5 fingers team. He first questioned Yoon Min Joon. Hwang Tae Kyung asked,

"How long were you Kim Ji Won's friend?"

Yoon Min Joon said, "Actually, we studied together since childhood and we were all (he pointed at all the members of 5 fingers) family friends and school mates too. Kim Ji Won formed this gang called as 5 fingers and he was the head of the gang. We were all really so close that there were no secrets between us at all."

Hwang Tae Kyung then asked all the members of 5 fingers, Yoon Hae Ra and me to enter into a room in the first floor and made us sit around a big table. I felt that it was like a group discussion that took place in my school. Then Hwang Tae Kyung asked a simple question.

"Please tell me all that you know about Kim Ji Won." Then to my great surprise, Cha Eun Sang opened his mouth to tell about the deceased.

"Kim Ji Won was an interesting guy sir. He always did what his mind told him and he made all of his decisions and allowed neither his family nor us to interfere in his decisions. Yet sometimes he considered our points. His passion right from childhood was for photography and he had achieved his ambition successfully. His photographs were extraordinary. He also received the best photographer award for his picture 'Shocking blue Ice'. He used to get bored of his models yet gave his heart to a very famous model Yoon Hae Ra, who is here and she is also the younger sister of Yoon Min Joon"

Hwang Tae Kyung listened patiently to all these and then said, "I want to know more about his character. Please tell me about it Choi Young." Choi Young then thought for a while and then said, "Kim Ji Won was very strict when it concerned his job but was a cool guy in the mean time. He worked with sincerity and great dedication for 8 hours a day but in the weekends he would be so free. He would not open his studio on weekends except that of emergency. He would party all weekends and spent his leisure time with us in this café. He got easily frustrated of his models and it would be really surprising that he would change them once in a week."

Then when everyone was quiet, I thought of the black masked figure that entered the room and then

suddenly the CCTV went black. I did not know why my mind told me this. The murderer must definitely be a lady. She was like me.

I then told Hwang Tae Kyung, "I think the murderer is a woman." All the eyes in the room were fixed on me.

Then Hwang Tae Kyung asked, "Why do you think so?" Then I took out the small hair clip from Young and showed them.

I said, "When I heard the scream, I rushed in to find a black figure dashing out of the camera room. When I began to chase it, it ran so fast and fell down at a point. That was when it dropped this hair clip. From her movements, body structure, I think, no I am sure that she is a lady. To be more specific, she was like me, the same height and weight"

Hwang Tae Kyung frowned and said, "The spot where the murder took place was a camera room and that clip might have been dropped by some model by mistake. So we cannot assume that the murderer is a lady."

Yoon Hae Ra, who had been quiet all the conversation, said, "Models remove all their clips, jewels and dresses only in the dressing room. We are not supposed to drop it by mistake too because, Kim Ji Won hated to keep his place untidy. He yelled at models, who dropped their things accidentally. Yesterday, we had only one model and that was Heartina Williams who is right here. Ms. Williams, did you use that clip yesterday?"

I thought about it and said, "No, I did not have clips at all in my hair" and said "Young give it to Tae Kyung". Young gave it to him and he watched it silently.

"Young this is evidence. Why didn't you give it to me yesterday?" asked Tae Kyung and Young said that he forgot.

Then Hwang Tae Kyung said, "Then it is really suspicious. Let me first confirm few things- Blood group in that paper and the long hair that was identified earlier. I will be back after finding out about this. Can anyone of you tell me Kim Ji Won's blood group?" Hwang Tae Kyung demanded and Choi Young replied that it was 'A1B –Ve', a really rare group.

Tae Kyung left and then Cha Eun Sang burst into tears. Then seeing him weep, Min Joon and Nam Soon also had tears in their eyes. Choi Young comforted them and Hae Ra wept silently too. I comforted her and she put her arms around me and started sobbing. The happy gang was shattered by a murder.
