66. Hidden Kid

Icy...

I went up to the terrace to see a tall, well built, handsome guy standing there.

"Youngah", I called. He turned back and smiled at me.

"Young, I wanted to ask you something", I got to the point directly.

"Anything Heartina", he smiled.

"It is about your twin", I said.

He froze but the next second; he had a false emotional mask on his face and burst out laughing.

"What are you talking about?" he asked hiding all the tension in his voice.

"I know the truth Young. You can remove your emotional mask now", I said.

"That is ridiculous Heartina"

"I have proof", I said confidently.

He froze on the word 'proof' and asked, "What proof?" he stammered.

"Do you remember the day when I was kidnapped? Your photo fell from your purse that morning. That was a picture of you and your twin. Am I right?"

"I told you it was my cousin's kids", he said flatly.

"No, you lied to me that day. I found a photo in your room under the bed. That was a picture of the kid you had that day and I asked your friend and he said it was you in your childhood. This means it is your photo and the other one must be your twin. Am I right?" I asked.

"I concede. You are right. I will tell you the truth. But why are you asking me about him?" he asked.

"That... that I will tell you after you tell me the truth", I told him.

Choi Young then told me about the birth of the twins, the fire accident and then saving his twin from the neonatal care secretly and then hiding the reason.

"Oh! I see", I said with sadness.

"That is it. Now tell me why you wanted to know about my twin?"

"No, this is not all Young. You are not the kid that was saved in the neonatal care, right?" I asked him.

"Yes. When we were 5 years old, my parents sent him to Macau and kept me at Seoul", he said.

"Do you have any differences between you?"

"We were mirror images of each other. Example, he was left handed and I am right handed", he said.

"Is your real name Choi Young?" I asked him

"Yes and my twin is Choi Won Young. But we call him Choi Young too to avoid problems in public", he explained.

"Where is Choi Won Young then?" I asked unable to control my curiosity.

"He is dead", he said with tear-filled eyes.

"What? Then why are you here?" I asked totally confused.

"It is a long story back", he whispered.

"Tell me everything" I commanded.

"My twin was here at Macau and he was put in a boarding school. As it was a boarding school, he relied entirely on his friends. That is how this gang called 5 fingers was developed. Yoon Min Joon was the

President's kid and Go Nam Soon was the son of a rich business man in China. So, they formed the group initially. The school was for boys only. Then one day when they were out for a picnic, they wanted to take pictures and they could not take it so well. That time, their classmate Kim Ji Won took the pictures for them and they found those were so amazing like real pics and so Kim Ji Won became the next member of the gang"

"What about Eun Sang?"

"He was an intelligent kid and saved them from failing in some subject. So, he too joined the gang. They were all happy. Then one day, my twin fell down while playing and was out of breath. He became unconscious and then, he was rushed to the hospital. My dad rushed there. The Doctor said my twin's lungs were not functioning properly and he must not be out of breath. If he happens to be out of breath, then his life would be at stake. We started to be very careful about him then. Actually, at that time, we brought him home and he showed me his friends. Then I went to his school as his replacement. I identified his friends and I found out a lot about them"

"You replaced him? Did anybody find it out? You are right handed, right?" I asked him. I felt replacing Heartina for 1 hour so difficult and I wondered how he was doing it for a longer period.

"No... I started to do things equally with both hands, nobody found me out. It was different, you see. My twin was not so good at studies but I studied well. When I was there, his grades showed improvement and teachers were all happy. After 6 months, he was back and I went back to Seoul. Days passed by and we grew up. He was careful not to get out of breath like he would not run or play or exercise. He used to party all night and had a great time"

"What about you? What were you doing then?" I asked him.

"I was Seoul learning medicine. I was an intern by then. I hated girls as you know. I then did my masters in surgery. Then one day, my twin came back to Seoul but did not come home. He stayed in a hotel and then called me there"

"Why did he do that? You would be seen as 2 different people right?" I asked confused.

"Yes, I sensed that and asked him to come home. He refused and told me he wanted to speak to me personally. I asked him to come to Choi's palace of delicacies at Seoul and booked a VIP suite for him. He came back to Seoul and stayed there and then I went to visit him"

"How? I don't understand", I urged.

"He disguised himself with fake hair and beard and went into the room. I disguised myself and then went to visit him"

"Why should you disguise? It's enough for one of you to be under disguise, right?"

"Choi's palace of delicacies is our place. He didn't want anyone to know that he was here. If someone found either of us there, then both of us would be in trouble", he lamented.

"I get it now. Why was he here secretly then?"

"He was betrayed by them", he said through clenched teeth.

"What betrayed? By whom?"

"I asked the same and he said, it was by his friends. He wouldn't tell me. I told him to calm down but he did not. I sensed this would be difficult and so, I added an anesthetic in his drink without his knowledge and gave it to him. He drank it and then when he woke up, I was ready with my hypnotic test instrument and conducted a hypnotic test. That is when I got the truth out of him", he sighed.

"Young! What did he tell you?" I whispered and he was staring somewhere straight as though, he was recapitulating all the details from the past.
