55. Illogical yet Logical

Yoon Min Joon...

Date: 19/07/2016... Night 8:00 pm...

Hae Ra and I were sitting in the café of the hospital. I was confused because I didn't understand the reason why Young had not told me about seeing the killer's face. I told everything to Hae Ra about the accident the previous day and also about my eavesdropping. She was puzzled and then began to think deeply too.

"Why did he not tell me about this?" I asked her.

"There must be a purpose. May be he was not sure if it was really Heartina because, she was chasing the killer with him"

"May be. But what is that going to do with telling me?" I wondered.

"He loves Heartina and would have wanted to save her", she said thoughtfully.

"Yes... you may be right. I will soon find out", I said and then suddenly remembered, "Hae Ra"

"What is it?"

"Heartina is missing"

"What? From when?"

"Afternoon. Let us go to Go Nam Soon's room to find about this more", I told her and we started walking towards Nam Soon's room. We went into his room and were discussing about Heartina vanishing in 15 minutes.

Choi Young and Hwang Tae Kyung were back in Seoul and both rushed to the hospital where Go Nam Soon was admitted. Both dashed into his room.

"Hyung! Finally, you are here!" exclaimed Go Nam Soon with relief.

"Any news about Heartina?" asked Tae Kyung and Nam Soon said no.

"Where did you see her right before she was kidnapped?" asked Tae Kyung.

"She was with me at the garden", said Nam Soon.

"Do you remember anybody else with you in the garden?" asked Young.

"Hyung! It is a garden and of course there will be a lot of people", he said.

"Oh! I know that and that is why do you remember anybody else? Like patients who were there at the same time of the encounter?" Young asked.

"Hmmm... Yes. There was this lady who came into our room today morning accidentally", said Nam Soon after deep thought.

"You mean Cheon Song Yi?" I asked and Go Nam Soon nodded and then said, "She was standing near Heartina and I was speaking with So Ha Ni and looked after 5 minutes to see only Cheon Song Yi there and Heartina was missing", he said as a matter of fact.

"Which room is she admitted?" asked Tae Kyung.

"She is not a patient here", I replied.

"Who is she?" asked Yoon Hae Ra and Choi Young together.

Then I narrated about Cheon Song Yi about entering into our room wrongly, slipping down, her somersault finally about introductions.

"Do you know when she will be back?" asked Tae Kyung.

"No idea", said Nam Soon.

Tae Kyung decided to see in the next room and Young went to search for her in the elevators while I went to the garden to find her.

I searched and finally reached the garden at the back of the hospital and, at that moment, in the dim shade of the moonlight, stood a lady so beautiful in white dress with blood red frills. She looked so beautiful that I recognized her immediately and called Tae Kyung and Young immediately. Both rushed to the spot.

"Cheon Song Yi", I called and rushed towards her. She was startled yet she was pleased to see that me and happy that I remembered her name clearly.

"Were you here today afternoon while my friend was here?" I asked her.

"Tell us quickly" urged Young.

"Why? Who are you to question me?" she asked.

Then, Tae Kyung immediately took out his ID and showed her.

"There is a lady missing in this hospital. You were the one who stood next to her when she was last seen"

"What? Do you suspect me?"

"No... No... It is not like that. Have you seen anybody suspicious near her?"

"First tell me who the lady is"

Then I said, "Do you remember the girl with electric blue eyes with me this morning?"

"No. Do you have her photo?" she asked.

"No", I said while at the same time Choi Young said, "Yes, I have it here" and showed a photo of Heartina in his phone. It was the one they had taken at the Choi's palace of delicacies.

"I remember her now. She was standing right next to me bending over a blue flower"

"What? You remember her?" asked Tae Kyung.

"Yes and then she spoke with a lady dressed in complete black", she said.

"What? She spoke with her? Did the lady dressed in black have a mask on?" asked Young thinking of the killer's face.

"No she did not have a mask on...And her face..." she was saying when Young said, "The lady dressed in black had the same face right?"

"Yes. They were twins and both walked... no, the lady in black pulled the other outside"

"Where?"

"Over there", she pointed to a corner near the back entrance.

"Why didn't you stop her?" asked Young.

"Is there anything wrong when twins meet? I don't think anything strange. Do you?" she asked me and I thought she was right and hence said no.

I looked at Young and by reading his face, I thought it was all illogical to stop Heartina's twin from kidnapping her. But as Cheon Song Yi asked me, there was a cool logic in her question. Why should anyone call the cops for two twins meeting together at a hospital? I felt an antagonism forming in my mind, logical yet illogical.

"Does Heartina really have a twin?" asked Tae Kyung and Young said, "I asked her mom about this and she said no"

"May be she was lying", I replied spontaneously.

"Why do you think that?" asked Young and I said, "I just feel like that but I don't know why"

"Argh! I must have given her a hypnotic test", shouted Young.

"I will go and check the CCTV footages", said Tae Kyung and departed and Young stood there thinking about Heartina. I then told Song Yi about everything and she was shocked as she saw the killer, yet failed to do the needful.
