Baartina and I were sitting on the couch outside her house in the veranda and were watching stars. It was a clear sky with a lot of stars.
"Icy, tell me the story. I'm about to burst from anxiety" I said expectantly.
"Ok I will tell you now"
I was eager to hear it.
"You and I were born on February 3rd, 1993 in Manhattan, Kansas. Mom was originally born in Seoul and had a Korean name. She married our dad Mr. Alexis Williams on September 3rd, 1988. She changed her name to Mrs. Alexia Williams after marriage. They loved each other and got married and did not have kids for about 4 years and finally mom gave birth to us. Also, there was a small problem during birth", she stopped.
"What problem?"
"During birth, the doctor took you out first and then when she took me out, I had my left leg folded and everyone thought that I had a big defect in my leg which might make walking really difficult. But fortunately, after giving an oil massage and a hot water bath, I unfolded my leg and looked like a normal kid. As we were twins dad thought, we would not have any sort of difference between us. But the eye colour was the major difference"
"Icy, I like the colour of your eyes. Ice-blue is so cool"
"I would say the same about yours. I like electric-blue actually", she smiled.
"Ok continue"
"We were alike in all aspects. For example, we were in the same class and both would fight for the first rank. Both were sprinters and both were very good at high jump", she said and smiled at me.
"Were we so much alike? I feel so ashamed that I do not remember you at all Icy"
"What is there to be embarrassed Shock? If my guess is correct, then it must be right after that horrific accident, may be you must have lost your memory"
"May be Icy"
"Then we grew up, days passed quickly. We were about 16 years old. I remember it so clearly because, that accident took place right after we celebrated our 19th birth day. Dad got promotion the previous month and we were so happy that year. Also, after the promotion, we went to San Diego for a 15 days trip and we had a great time. On our 19th birth day, dad gave a present to both of us there. It is still with you and me"
"Are you sure I'm having it too?", I asked eagerly.
"Positive. You are wearing it this moment", Icy said smiling.
"Where is it?" I asked hastily.
"Your ring. It's a 'I' engraved in platinum while I have the same with the letter 'S'. I for Icy and S is for Shock. It was dad's birthday present for our 19th birthday", she smiled.
"Oh! I have always wondered why it is letter 'I' for the past 4 years", I smiled at her. "The accident occurred on February 6th 2012. We had a cycle racing competition on that day in San Diego and both of us participated. Actually the road map for the race was like this". She started to draw the map in a rough sheet nearby.

"Do you see the mountains here?" Icy asked me and I nodded.
"Do you see the fork?" she asked and I nodded once again.
"Actually both of us were riding at the same speed till, maybe 1 mile before the fork and then I went ahead as it was a race. I took the path labeled with mountains but actually all the participants had to take the other path which is a long one (marked as regular route). I wanted to win so I took the other one. You went took the regular path and also dad participated in this as it was an open tournament for all"
"Which way did dad take?" I asked.
"Dad took your way. Actually, as mountains existed between both paths, we could not see what was happening on the other side. I had the mountains on my right side and you and dad had it on your left side. To my left, was a deep chasm and that was the main reason why, we, as participants of the competition were not allowed to go that way as we would ride our bicycles rashly and fall down. Dad and you went the other way thinking that I had gone ahead but you found out that I was not there and so dad took the reverse route to search for me"
"Reverse route?"
"Actually you were waiting in the red star marked by me and dad took the route that is marked by me with blue arrow. But I was not aware of that all till dad showed up at the last moment. I was completely engrossed in what was happening there", she said the last line with clenched teeth.
