58. Reason & Treason

Heartina...

Date: 19/07/2016... Time: 11: 00 PM...

Baartina had finished telling the death of Su Yi Jin and her escape from there with dad. Actually dad and Baartina were cycling towards the red star in the route that is, they were travelling towards me.

"What was I doing then?" I asked her. I felt like I was totally out of the scene.

"Shock, you were waiting for dad and me", she replied.

"Was I waiting? It was a race right? If I had been in my right mind, I would have started cycling towards the finish point", I said and she laughed out aloud.

"That is where family bond comes into action. You and I were never apart and this cruel accident separated us", she said.

"Then what happened?"

"Next was where the real problem started. They came chasing down. Dad and I thought you would have left without waiting for us and so we hid behind a big rock and started watching them."

"But you said I did not leave?" I asked puzzled.

"Yes. That was not anticipated by us at all. We were hiding and they went ahead of us and found you standing there leisurely waiting for us"

"What? I was standing there leisurely?"

"Yes you were, because you had no idea of what was going on, at the other end. Dad started to run to save you and they saw him in the rare view mirror and they stopped the vehicle and that vile man who was the shorter of the two got down from the car and the other one hurried after you", she said with clenched teeth.

"Shortest? Is it that scientist guy Cha Eun Sang?"

"You are correct. He alone got down and took a small bottle from his pocket and at that moment, I did not know what it was. He simply opened the bottle and poured it on dad's face and plucked dad's mobile. Only then I realized that it was a bottle of acid. Dad shouted due to severe pain and I rushed to his rescue", she said with tears streaming down her face.

I felt as though someone had pushed me into a shower of fire. The hair on my skin rose causing goose flesh and then with an icy tone, I asked "What? He poured acid on dad's face? I can't believe this at all"

"That is the reason why I poured acid on his face while killing him and then stabbed him to death. As I rushed to father's side, that guy caught me by my hair but his friend was moving towards you thinking you were me because we had the same face except that of the eye colour"

"What happened then Icy?"

"Very simple, they hit you with the car without getting out of the vehicle. You were sent flying right in front of my eyes. I could see that sight till now in my night mares. You flew away due to force and hit a rock in the mountains", she said with tears and then said, "I am really sorry for not saving you that time", she sobbed and I hugged her and comforted her.

There was complete silence for the next minute and I decided to break the silence.

"Ah! That must the reason for my memory loss then", I told her gently and again she started the story.

"Correct! Then Eun Sang immediately found out that I was the real one and his friend had got the wrong one. He yelled from that place calling him. I did not know what to do. So I looked around to see we were standing in the middle of the bridge with water on one side and a big cliff on the other side. I was a good swimmer so I thought I must make my chances to jump into the water in order to stay alive and if possible to save you and get my revenge on them"
