27. New Opportunities

Heartina...

5 days later.

That morning, I woke up to find my legs, nearly back to normal. I could walk like before, but not at the same speed. The pain in my hip was gone and my head injury was all healed up. I looked at the deep fissures in my palms which were better today. I suddenly remembered, the saying 'If health is lost, something is lost' and I thought it must be rewritten as, 'If health is lost, everything is lost' as I could not move anywhere without someone to hold me. Especially, I had really tortured Young and kept him near me always. He was a doctor, but I have never seen a doctor staying near a single patient only for nearly 5 days giving physiotherapy. I felt like a real hospitalized patient, but admitted in a café.

When I went down for breakfast, I saw the café filled not with customers, but a set of weird looking, black-suited men all deeply in talk with Go Nam Soon. Yoon Min Joon was busy making coffee for all of them and Choi Young was standing at the corner and from the way he kept his face, I could sense it was a really boring conversation. On looking at his innocent face and a kind heart I could not sense that he was lying at all. What if the news my mom told me was true? I don't care anyway if he had a twin brother. But again, why does my mom worry about this? I decided to put that topic off my mind for some time and went down.

"Good Morning, Heartina", said Choi Young with a smile and he looked so handsome and I felt all warm on seeing him and I hated to admit it.

"Good Morning, Young", I smiled and went towards him.

"Now...Now, Heartina come over here and sit next to me", said Go Nam Soon.

The café looked like a meeting hall at present with three tables put together. More than a dozen people in black suits were suited around the table with Go Nam Soon at the head of the table and immediate chair on left was left empty. I went over and sat there.

"Heartina, this is our movie's Director. Oh Kim Souk", he pointed to the man in late fifties to his immediate right.

"Hello dear", the director said in a gruff voice.

"Hello sir, nice to meet you", I said shyly. Then Go Nam Soon introduced the other members of the table and I could not keep them all in my mind. According to me these people included the director, editor, choreographer, stunt men and women, make-up artists, mimicry artists, dupe artists etc.

"Will Heartina be suitable for my first new movie?" asked Nam Soon after introduction to the director.

"Of course. This young lady here is very beautiful", he gestured his hand towards me.

I smiled slightly so that, I would not appear to be too happy.

"When can we start Go Nam Soon?" the director asked.

"How about 15 days later?" he answered.

"Why so late?"

"Heartina is actually recovering from an injury right now and my friend Choi Young" he pointed at Young and then continued "is helping giving her physiotherapy to recover. So how about we start a little late?"

"OK, but no further delay, agreed?"

"I agree", said Go Nam Soon.

The director discussed about the time and place of our movie shoot. I got up and stood near Choi Young. We were discussing about something when the director came towards me and whispered, "Is this your first movie?"

"Yes. I have done few ads before, but they are not on screen yet", I replied. This conversation was between the director and me but, Young was so close to me that he would of course hear it all.

"Then you wouldn't want much glamour, right? But this movie is a romantic comedy. There will be scenes like the hero kissing you and hugging you. Will you do it all or should I search a new girl?" he asked in a low voice.

I felt my face redden. I was not used to such questions. In fact, I had not even kissed a boy yet. How will I do it? I looked at Young and he was watching me and his expression was different. Was it jealousy? Or hurt? Then, without thinking at all, I said, "Director, I am okay with carrying me around and a few back hugs, but if you want anything more than that, I think you must look for another heroine", I said in a serious tone. Choi Young suppressed his laugh with a small cough.

"But Heartina, you have a pretty face and a good body structure. You could overthrow great cini-stars if you showed importance to your glamour too dear", he smiled.

"I have no intention of over throwing other cini-stars director sir and please do not bring this topic again", I said with a cold voice and gave him a glare and the director took a step back.

"I will give a second thought about it", he muttered and moved away.

Then, before the director could come back, Choi Young took my hand and we both left the café.
