46. Amnesia

Choi Young...

The café terrace...Time: 11:00 PM...Date: 18/07/2016

I was standing in a corner and was thinking deeply. The killer lady had Heartina's face yet a different eye colour. Was she Heartina herself? No chance for that because she was on the other side of the road and she chased the murderer along with him. Who is the killer? I thought of the theory in which 7 people in the world may have the same face. But, that was just a theory. After 5 minutes, the truth hit me. What if Heartina had a twin just like me? Again this thought had very low probability.

I thought deeply and recollected every known detail about Heartina. Then I remembered a long deep scar on Heartina's head. But when I had asked her about it, she was not aware of it all and I knew she was not lying at all. Being a psychologist had few advantages too.

Heartina was tired after the party and wanted to ask if I was alright and so she searched for me all around the café and finally found me on the terrace. She walked towards me and found me deep in thought.

"What are you doing here Young?" she asked me.

I did not respond at all as I was in deep thought and I didn't even realize she was there till she touched my shoulders.

"What is it Young? Is anything bothering you?" she asked me and I looked into her eyes and smiled and said, "Nothing, I was just thinking about Go Nam Soon and the killer lady"

I think my seriousness reflected in my face and she was like, she did not know what to tell me. She threw her arms around me and said, "Have a good sleep and everything will be alright", she whispered. I thought, she was in a calm mood and I decided to clarify my doubts now.

"Heartina"

"Hmmm..."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure. What is it?"

"Do you remember how you got that scar on your head?"

"Which one?"

"The one I asked you on the other day in the orphanage hospital while treating your head injury"

"Oh! That one!"

"The very same"

"No I don't remember anything. I don't even remember anything like getting a scar there at all. I knew that I had a scar like that, only after you told me Young"

"Can you remember your childhood?"

"Mmm...Wait...let me think..."

"You don't remember your childhood memories?" I was shocked. This was not a good sign. I suspected if she was suffering from memory loss.

"No... I don't remember anything at all. All I could remember is for the past 4 years"

"Oh...ok...alright, good night" I tried to end up the conversation so that; she doesn't start to question me about the need of bringing that topic now. But, she was quicker.

"Why are you asking this now? Is it anything important Young?"

"No... Not at all. I just wanted to know more about you", I faked a smile at her.

"Good night Young", she said and departed, when I called her again.

"Heartina"

"Yes"

"I'm going to Seoul tomorrow to visit my parents"

"What? Can I tag along too?"

"No... No... I'm going there with Hwang Tae Kyung for some investigation"

"Oh! Say hello to my parents for me", she said sadly.

"Sure Heartina. I will tell them", I smiled.

"Good night Young", she mouthed and departed.

I stood there a little longer and found out a big fact. Heartina had lost all her past memories. She could remember only what happened from 4 years ago. Oh My God!

I thought about the chances. She must have lost her memories only because of the head injury but, she does not even remember it. I was actually going to Seoul to ask Heartina's mom about her secret.

Anyway, I would find it out tomorrow for sure. Before that, I had to call Hwang Tae Kyung to come there with me.
