"Wake up to this sad dream. Watch as things slip through the world unsupervised. I don't know anything at all."

It happens every once in a while. The coldness of his fingertips brush against mine —lifeless emptied from affection. Null—his eyes would be, more like exhausted, drained. Fatigue would shadow his figure, like he hasn't slept in days.

Weirdly, I've been used to it. No, I don't like it.

With flooding thoughts, Rose sat down on the empty bed, scribbling her thoughts away. Today is one of those days. Where her boyfriend neglects her delicately, where his emotions for here aren't as bright and glowy.

Everyone was present downstairs, she thought she'd give the family some alone time. The father was present too, she wasn't fond of his presence—nothing she can do about it.

Grayson had learned to accept his existence beyond the house. After last time, it was less harder but still heart clenching at times.

There's nothing I can do but wait—wait for the sunshine to rise over his head again, returning back his loving smile and adoration filled touches.

With a heavy sigh, she figured it would be best to stop her emotions along with her fingers and close down her notebook. It wasn't time to get weak in her feelings, this wasn't something new. He'll go back to normal in a couple of days.

Approaching the living room downstairs, everyone took notice of her presence. The father's eyes were less harsh, more apologetic oddly.

"Hey sweetie, come sit with us," the mother smiled lovingly, patting the space between her and Grayson.

They were watching a movie—a movie from the twin's childhood to be exact. What a smooth way to stitch up all the traumas, acting like nothing's wrong.

Rose dunked down gently placing herself next to Grayson. She looked at his side, seeing his eyes fixed on the screen, like she didn't exist.

"Hey," she half whispered, gaining his attention. He looked at her for a mere second. "Are you okay?"

Giving her a questionable look, he nodded confusingly. "Yeah?"

She nodded with pursued lips. "Okay, just checking." Disappointment haunted her in the spot. She wasn't hurt, more let down again.

Halfway through the movie, Lisa—the twins mother—noticed the uneasiness, the soft rejection, the neglect of emotions. Her son would flinch at times of being touched by his lover. He would shift and move, letting out nothing but dried out feelings.

Rose sprinted up. "Anyone want anything from the kitchen?"

They all shook their head in sync. Ethan look over her, sending her a soft of a toothless smile. "Thanks," he mumbled.

She blinked her eyes at him before being long gone. It was a matter of minutes as Lisa followed her up. Ever since Rose came to New Jersey, they really hadn't had the time to properly talk and discuss the bitter reality of things.
