"Life had always had a way of stabbing me in the back. It's a non ending cycle of disappointment, you know?"

"Finally got the balls, huh Grayson?" Cara's voice floated the backyard as soon as she stepped foot into the twin residence.

Grayson groaned playfully under his breath knowing her teasing session had just started. Everyone present around erupted in laughter making him more frustrated.

They were all gathered. Of course, seeing Grayson in a relationship was something foreign—something they never witnessed before. For sure it needed a celebration, even though Rose and Grayson saw no use of it.

"Well, look who's here," he flashed Cara a grin, stepping closer towards her as he initiated a friendly hug. Rose was rather surprised by her appearance due to Ethan's company and the fact that Cara avoided him at all costs now.

Rose was also quick in taking Cara in her tight embrace. "I missed you."

"I do too," she smiled weakly towards her best friend before returning her gaze over to Grayson. "This bastard is taking you away from me."

Grayson shook his head with a genuine smile on. "Well, she's all yours today."

"How generous of you," she sarcastically remarked back.

Already sensing the tension built in the air, Ethan was soon to pop up with his girlfriend, Mia, by his side. Oddly enough, Rose was soon to notice the faint excitement set in his eyes once he acknowledged Cara.

"Cara! Where you been?" His hands slipped automatically out of Mia's engulf, approaching Cara with excited footsteps.

A storm of thousands of emotions was formed. "Hey," she plainly greeted him, forcing every atom in her body to calm down. Rose knew deep down her likings were still there, however she had acceptance.

He pulled her into as if she was the best friend he loved and cared for. Maybe he missed her presence.

She politely reciprocated his friendly gesture being sure to break it seconds later. Ethan's funny eyes soon were set on the freshly couple. "Shall I say congratulations?"

Rose threw her head in utter frustration, groaning loudly. "You guys make it seem like he proposed."

Being focused on the barbecue grill, his laugh still managed to reach everyone's ears including Rose as she saw him smiling widely to himself as he shook his head.

He had a rather contagious smile, you couldn't help but imitate it. However, Rose's smile was soon vanished once she noticed the company of Grayson's dear friends—Chris and Ryan.

She frowned already feeling tense and annoyed due to their presence. Control yourself.

Noah was also present too. His aura was very relaxing and calm unlike them. He soon spotted Her and Cara in the distance, keeping his eye focused on her best friend.

"Rose," he grabbed her attention, being accompanied with a warm smile. "Good to see you."

Engulfing her in a hug, the atmosphere between the three was cut off as both—him and Cara got a little away with a seemingly non-ending staring contest.
