Sweet Pea's POV

Weeks had gone by and it was like she was afraid of her own shadow. She didn't know what to do with herself at the minute, whether it was fear of the ghoulies or fear of the gargoyles. Everything was getting way too much.

I went everywhere with her but she wasn't the same at all. She flinched every time I went to touch her, or anytime someone walked behind her she would look over her shoulder in fear.

It's as though she'd finally cracked. After all the shit she'd gone through, which is way too much for an 18 year old girl, she'd finally cracked. She isn't the same Ally that we all knew.

Ally's POV

Everything seemed different now. Sweet Pea was right, he told me everyday that he was always there to help me because I'm not the same Ally that I used to be.

'Alana Mason isn't like this, she's strong, I miss you Ally'

His words repeated in my head like a broken record, stuck on the same groove and playing over and over.

It sounded harsh but it was true, I need to change. That night was terrible, yet nothing actually happened. Worse has happened to me in the last five years but that night stuck in my mind the most. It's almost like it was the straw that broke the camels back, like it was the last thing I could take before slipping into insanity.

My shoulders flinched when Sweet Pea suddenly rested his arm over me, as we sat in Bon Nuit waiting for our drinks at the bar.

"Sorry" He said, giving my shoulder a small squeeze as we leant back into the cushioned booth.

As soon as I looked into his eyes I could tell that he was exhausted, which is another reason that I had to change. Sweet Pea has done so much for me and there is no way that I can drive him away again, not like last time.

"I'm going to change, I promise" I assured, looking at him with big eyes.

"What do you mean?" He asked tiredly, giving my shoulder another squeeze.

"You know exactly what I mean. This isn't me, you've said it yourself. I need to get back to normal Ally" I nodded, giving him a peck on the lips for the first time since the incident.

I could tell straight away that we were both happier at this milestone, and it made my words seem even more legitimate.

"I believe you, Al" He smiled, cupping my cheek to give me another small kiss on the lips.

"It might take some time, but I'll get there. I promise you that I'll try as hard as I can to get over these things" I stated, leaning my head against his shoulder.

"These aren't just 'things' though Ally, it could take months, maybe years to fully recover but I'll be here. Every step of the way" He said, kissing the top of my head gently.

"I love you, Sweet Pea" I said, looking back up at him.

"Love you too, gorgeous" He smirked, intertwining his hand into mine.

"Ah, young love" Jughead smirked, sliding into the booth with Fangs, Toni and Cheryl.

"Hey" I smiled at them all, serpent jackets adorning all of their backs making me feel slightly left out.

We enjoyed each others company for hours, the night only getting slightly awkward when Josie hopped onto the stage for her nightly performance.

"Another round please, bulldog" Sweet Pea shouted over to Reggie, which earned him a light slap on the shoulder from me.

Reggie rolled his eyes before bringing us all another round of our drinks and practically slamming them down on the table.

He took one look at me and off he went.

"Hey Ally, haven't seen you in a while.. see you're not wearing a serpent jacket? Got my bulldogs jersey in the back if you want to keep warm.. I know snakes are pretty cold-blooded" He taunted sarcastically, giving me a wink at the end.

"Say that again, dick" Sweet Pea stood up to become face to face with Reggie.

"Well I know from previous experiences that Ally is not cold blooded, she's actually really hot when you get her under the sheets" Reggie grinned, clearly trying to get at the serpents by making up stupid lies.

All of the boys stood up now and walked towards Reggie menacingly, who was shortly joined by a few other bulldogs.

"Pea, he's lying don't listen to the creep" I rolled my eyes, holding onto his arm and attempting to pull him back.

"I don't care" he said back to me, "do you know how much shit she's been through Mantle? Huh? I'm not gonna let some stupid lies hurt her anymore, so I suggest you fuck off or I'll make you fuck off. Got it?" He said intensely, making my stomach do flips as he stood up for me.

"Got it, but I think we all know that it wasn't a lie" Reggie smirked.

It was Jughead to interfere this time, as he grabbed Reggie by the collar and shoved him back.

"I suggest you shut up, Reggie" He growled, making Reggie look a bit scared.

"Now now boys, what is happening over at the finest booth in the house?" Veronica smiled, sauntering in between the two rival groups.

"Nothing Ronnie, Just these snakes trying to get under our skin" Reggie scoffed, making every serpent roll their eyes.

"Well whatever it is, I wish no ill will on any of you, so let's all have a drink and calm down, okay?" She smirked.

"But-" Reggie protested, but Veronica held a hand up to his face.

"Now Reggie, I don't pay you to fight our paying customers, I pay you to serve them. Next round of drinks is on me, get back to work" She smiled, nodding over at me with a wink which I gladly returned.

The boys sat down and Sweet Peas arm rested back over my shoulders.

"I like you being friends with the rich girl now, Al" Sweet Pea whispered in my ear.

"Yeah me too" I smirked, kissing him gently.

And just like that, the old Ally was beginning to show once again.
