James's POV
I slowly pull my lips away from Riley's, after a good few minutes of kissing.
Cliche maybe, but I felt fireworks explode in my head.
I stare at her smiling, but she blushes and ducks her head.
"Um, goodnight." She says softly and runs away. I chuckle and get in the truck and drive to West's house. He told me to come over after the date, because he said that he and Eldon had something to tell me. Knowing them, it can't be good.

"So, how was your little date with..." West trails off.
"Riley." I finish for him.
"Yeah her." He snorts.
"Stupid." I lie. I had to admit, I had a pretty good time, especially the kiss. But I couldn't let them know that.
"Well, me and West have a little follow up challenge to your date." Eldon says with a smirk.
"What?" I ask nervously.
"We bet that you can't go steady with Riley until prom. If you win, we will do anything you want. If you lose it and break up with her, or for some crazy reason she breaks up with you, we win." West explains.
"And if you win, what do I have to do for you?" I question. They both smirk deviously.
"We'll let you know on that." Eldon replies.
"Prepare to lose." I say with great confidence.
Riley's POV
I wake up the next morning, still exhausted. I hadn't slept all night, because I was too busy thinking about that stupid kiss with James.
Had I felt anything when I kissed him? Maybe. But he never felt anything. He's a player. He doesn't care about me.
"Morning." I say to my father as I walk into the kitchen and begin to prepare his breakfast.
"Morning sweetie." He says, looking over the newspaper. He sets it down. "So, how was your date last night?"
"It wasn't a date." I lie defensively.
"Alright. Then, how was your meeting up with a boy last night?" He asks.
"Fine, I suppose." I mumble. I set his breakfast infront of him.
"Aren't you eating?" He asks. I shrug.
"No, I want to get to school early to work on an English essay we were assigned yesterday." I tell him.
"Alright." He replies, taking a sip of his black coffee. I kiss his cheek and then start my walk to school.
