Riley's POV
So, I'm currently still stuck at home sick, and to make matters worse, James isn't texting me back. I know be had his own life too, but I wanted him to make me feel better.
It's getting late. Dad brought me up some soup though. I managed to eat it and never threw it up, which us good. Emily went back last night too.
James's POV
I got to give some credit to Riley, because I really don't know how she can put up with all these customers.
They're rude, pushy, and annoying. And also pretty obnoxious.
"This isn't what I ordered." One complained.
"Alright, I'll take it back." I sigh, taking her mug from her and bringing it to the back.
"You won't get any tips like that." A girl who I've learned to know as Janet says.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Your attitude. Look it's really sweet what you're doing for Riley, but it's not hard to tell that you don't want to be here." She replies.
"Well you're right. I'm only here for Riley and if I wasn't, I defiantly wouldn't be here." I tell her.
"Riley usually gets the biggest and best tips out of all of us. Most of the customers love her." She explains.
"Alright, I'll try again." I sigh and go back out.
~~~~~
"That was pretty good for your first day." The manger, Marie comments as she turns the open sign over to closed.
"Thanks." I sigh.
"I'll see you bright and early tomorrow." She says with a bright smile. I roll my eyes.
"Yeah." I mutter before walking out of the cafe.
