Riley's POV

Dad picked me up from work like he promised. I hopped into his pick up truck, a broad smile on my face.

"A little happy Riley?" He chuckles.

"Um, yeah. I got an invite to James's sister's wedding!" I tell him excitedly.

"Oh really? When is it?" He asks.

"Saturday." I reply.

"Good. Just no drinking this time right?" He says, sending me a smirk. I roll my eyes.

"Right." I mutter, although I found it quite funny and surprising how much he had lightened up about the whole situation. Sure I was still grounded, but he seems to always find ways to tease me about. Especially after I had expressed to him how gross and terrible I felt when I woke up the next morning.

James's POV

After dropping Riley off, the guys wanted to hang out at Eldon's house. As usual, I was the last one there.

"How come you're always late?" West asks.

"Well, I just had to drop Riley of at the cafe." I explain. They roll their eyes.

"So, any new gossip from the Marin house?" West asks.

"What?" I inquire, clearly confused.

"I mean, anything new about Riley we can have a laugh at?" He replies.

"Oh. Um, no. Not really." I respond.

"Okay well than let's move on to a new topic. Have you thought about who you're going to date after Riley?" He asks.

"Why does it matter?" I ask harshly.

"Just asking. But have you?"

"No, not really."

"Oh, how about Ashley!" He suggests.

"Ashley?" I inquire.

"Yeah, Ashley." He repeats.

"Why Ashley?" I ask.

"Well for one, she is hot!" He chuckles.

"I don't know man. Yeah she's hot, but I dated her before." I say.

"Yeah, but she's still a long step up from Riley." He chuckles.

"Yeah I guess, but I still don't know." I mumbled.

"So, prom is in two weeks. Think you can hang on for that long?" He asks.

"Yeah I suppose." I sigh.

Two weeks. Two weeks left of having Riley in my life.

"Unless, you know, you don't want to break up with Riley." He says, but by the smirk on his face, I know he is kidding.

"What? No! Of course not! God, I can't wait till this bet is over so I can get her out of my life." I lie.
