Riley's POV

Dad stares me down with that famous stern dad look that it seems like all dads have. Must be a section in the "what to do when you catch your daughter making out with a guy" dads handbook.

"You seemed to be having fun while I was gone." Dad says.

"We just came in like five minutes before you walked in." I tell him. There was a slight tone of sass in my words, and I knew that he never liked that.

"You can't speak to me in that tone young lady!" He says sternly.

"I'm sorry." I mumble.

"It seems that you have been getting awful close with James. Maybe a little too close." He says.

"We're in a relationship! That's how it's supposed to be!" I snap.

"Oh, so you're supposed to make out when there's nobody home, and you're supposed to sneak down with him late at night or he sneaks into the bedroom with you! Well, excuse me! I wasn't aware of that!" He bellows.

"I'm sure you did the same thing with mom!" I scream back. His expression is a mixture of sadness and anger.

"Riley, I want you in your room right now. We're done talking." He says sternly.

"I'm sorry-" I start, but am cut off.

"Room! Right now!" He snaps, pointing at the door. I give a little nod and go to my room.

James's POV

I hear several female voices coming from the living room as I walk into the house. Curiosity takes over me as I approach the living room. There was my mother, sister Jessica...And Ashley.

"Oh, sit down James." Mom greets, motioning to the spot next to Ashley. I take a seat in a chair in the corner, avoiding the spot by Ashley.

"So, what are you doing here?" I ask Jessica and Ashley.

"Last minute wedding planning. And Ashley's helping me." Jessica replies.

"I see." I mumble. "Is there anyway that you can add one more person to the list?"

"And who would that be?" Jessica asks.

"My date." I reply. I see Ashley purse her lips.

"I thought you were taking me as your date." She says.

"I'm sorry, but I would rather take my girlfriend as my date." I explain.

"Well, I suppose there's still room for one more..."

"Nonsense! James, you will still take Ashley." Mom cuts in.

"Mom, I'm sure he can take his girlfriend." Jessica tries.

"There is no need for Riley to come!" Mom interjects. "James, you're taking Ashley!"

Ashley sits there, quite pleased that everything is going her way. It made me want to hit her just sitting there like that. But I still wasn't going down without a fight.

"I'm taking Riley." I sat calmly, yet firmly.

"James, I am forbidding you to bring that revolving girl to this wedding! End of discussion!" She snaps.
