James's POV
I wake, the sun dancing on my eyelids. I groan, get up, close the blinds, and get back into the bed with Riley. I put my arms around her again, holding her close, and drift back to sleep.
Riley's POV
I'm woken up to the feel of James leaving sloppy kisses on the side of my neck. I giggle.
"Stop it." I whine tiredly.
"No." He mumbles against my neck. I turn to face him.
"I'm tired." I tell him, in hopes that he'd knock it off.
"Fine, I'll stop." He finally agrees. He gets out of the bed.
"Where are you going?" I ask.
"Just to get a drink of water. I'll be right back." He tells me.
"Alright." I reply, snuggling into the covers.
"Do you want anything?" He asks.
"A kiss would be nice." I respond sweetly. He chuckles, leaning down and giving me a sweet kiss on the lips.
"I'll be back in a second." He tells me.
James's POV
I trot down the stairs and to the kitchen. But just as I reach the main entrance, the door creaks open, and in steps my parents. Oh no.
"I thought you two weren't supposed to be back till later today." I state nervously.
"Meeting was cancelled, so we just came home." My mother tells me.
"Oh, I see." I reply slowly.
"Did you have anyone over while we were gone?" She asks.
"West, Eldon, Michelle and Stephanie." I reply.
"No Riley?" She inquires.
"No." I lie.
"I see." She says dryly.
"James, what's taking you so long?" Riley says, walking down the stairs. I am so in for it!
She walks down the stairs, obviously unaware of my mom, and walks into my arms. My mother purses her lips and crosses her arms and clears her throat.
"Oh, hi Mrs Kennedy!" She says nervously, jumping out of my arms.
"Hello." Mom replies coldly. "Care to explain what you are doing here?"
"James asked me to say all night." Riley replied.
"Well, it's morning now, so you should leave." Mom replies icly. Riley and I exchange looks before she nods.
"Your right." She says. "I should leave."
"Riley-" I start, but Riley was already making her way up the stairs.

"Your parents hate me." Riley mumbles as I drive her home.
"No they don't." I try to convince both her and myself.
"Don't even try that James." She says. "We both know that they hate me."
"Okay, they're not your biggest fans. Big deal." I respond.
"It is a big deal. I'm obviously not welcome, so what's the point?" She replies.
"Maybe we should break up." She says quietly. I quickly pull over on the side of the road.
"No Riley." I say firmly. "I don't care what my parents feel or think about you."
"But James-"
"Listen Riley. My parents aren't the ones dating you. I am." I state strongly. She takes a deep breath and nods.
"Your right." She finally says.
"I am. Now give me a kiss." I order. I smirk as she leans in, and brushes her lips over mine. I lean in as well for a fuller kiss. We pull away, a smile on both our faces.
"Now, I better get you home before your dad kills me!" I sigh, pulling back onto the road.
