Riley's POV
"So, you defiantly can't come over today?" James sighs.
"No, sorry." I reply. "And I have to work after school anyway."
"Oh, well do you want me to drive you there?" He offers.
"Aw, you're so sweet." I gush, kissing his cheek.
"So when are you ungrounded?" He asks.
"Friday I think." I reply.
"Oh, well that's not that bad." He says.
"Yeah I guess. Maybe we can do something special the weekend." I suggest. He sighs.
"I got my sister's wedding this weekend." He tells me.
"Oh, well maybe next weekend we can do something." I suggest again.
"Yeah sure." He replies.
"Okay great." I reply happily.
"It's too bad that you can't go to Jessica's wedding." James sighs unhappily.
"Yeah, but it's no big deal. You'll be fine without me." I tell him.
"Not as much with you." He whines.

"Okay, I'll see you later." James says when he drops me off at the cafe.
"Yeah, and thanks for the ride." I reply, giving him a goodbye kiss.
"Do you want me to pick you up after?" He asks.
"No thanks. I think my dad will come get me today." I explain.
"Okay, just give me another kiss before you leave."
"Fine." I sigh. I kiss him another kiss one last time before I finally get out of the truck and go into the cafe. I turn back and wave to James as he pulls out of the parking lot.
~~~~~
"Riley, someone's up front asking for you." Marie tells me as I clean off a table in the back area of the cafe.
"Okay, be right there." I reply and make my way up front. I put on a confused face when I see Jessica.
"Hi Riley." She greets sweetly.
"Um, hi. What are you doing here?" I ask, trying not to sound rude.
"I have something to give you." She replies as she rummages through her purse.
"What?" I question. She pulls out a cream coloured envelope, my name printed on the front in fancy gold letters.
"Here." She says, holding out the envelope to me.
"What is it?" I ask hesitantly before accepting it.
"An invitation to my wedding." She replies, thrusting the envelope in my direction.
"Jessica, I appreciate it but your mother is far from being my biggest fan. I don't think coming will really be something she would enjoy." I tell her. She laughs.
"Riley, it's my wedding. And I talked with my mother and she said it was okay." She tells me. My eyes widen.
"Seriously? Your mother is okay with it?" I exclaim.
"Yeah it surprised me too. But she did. And I can see how much you mean to James and how much he would want you to come." She says. I smile at her, accepting the invitation.
"Thank you so much." I say, beaming at her. She smiles back.
"No problem." She replies. She waves as she walks out the door. I look down at the invitation, smiling from ear to ear.
