James's POV

"Guess what?" Riley says excitedly as she gets into my truck the next day.

"What?" I question. She sighs.

"I said guess." She pouts.

"I don't know, just tell me." I mutter.

"What's wrong? You seem mad or something." She asks.

I wasn't mad. I wasn't angry. I just had been up all night thinking of Riley. I wanted to be with her, nobody else. For once I didn't feel like I needed to rotate from girl to girl every three days. I felt happy with her. But the guys wouldn't understand that. And I don't think I can give them the chance to try.

"I just got a lot on my mind right now." I reply.

"Oh, I see." She responds as she calms down. I felt responsible as I seen her happiness and excitement diminish. It wasn't very often that you see Riley as happy as she was, so I tried to perk up a bit. I smiled broadly and gave her a poke.

"Hey, you never told me what you're so hyped up about! Tell me!" I say, trying to sound excited as well. She smiles again.

"I got invited to your sister's wedding!" She replies.

"That's great! But are you sure you want to come? You know, with my mom and all..."

"I know, and I was concerned about that too, but Jessica told me that your mom agreed and was happy about it." Riley tells me.

"Really? My mom agreed?" I question.

"Yeah." Riley responds.

"Oh, then that's good. Maybe she's warming up to you." I reply as I start the engine and back out of the driveway.

"Yeah, maybe she is." Riley says quietly, looking out the window.

Riley's POV

The guys had a football meeting at the start of lunch, so Stephanie, Michelle and I headed down to the cafeteria ourselves. I bought a pack of grapes from the canteen and sat in James's seat.

"James isn't going to be happy when he see's you in his seat." Michelle says. I shrug.

"He'll have to deal with it." I reply, popping a grape into my mouth. They giggle and eat their own food.

"So, how have you and James been?" Stephanie inquires.

"Great, actually." I reply.

"Someone sounds confident." Michelle comments. I shrug.

"Well, I got invited to his sister's wedding." I tell them.

"That's nice." The both reply. We eat in silence for a little while until the guys finally come back. James comes up behind me and takes a grape.

"Hey, I paid for those!" I say, playfully punching him.

"Eh, I'll pay you back." He replies.

"You better." I reply. He kind of laughs before he suddenly stops.

"What are you doing in my seat?" He questions. I shrug.

"Move over, that's my seat." He orders.

"I was here first." I reply. He puts his hands up in surrender.

"Alright, alright, you stay there." He says, taking the seat beside me. I smile triumphantly and eat another grape.

"Oh, James a little scared of Riley, huh?" West inquires.

"No, she was there first." He replies. West chuckles and turns to me.

"I wouldn't get used to it Riley. James doesn't let anyone sit there." He tells me and turns back to Stephanie. James leans over and whispers to me,

"You must be pretty special for me to let you sit there."

I look at him oddly while he sits there with an innocent smile on his face. I giggle.

"I love you." I say quietly. James just stares at me for a minute, his mouth open like he's about to say the same thing, but he quickly turns away and talks to Eldon instead.
