Show me your self-defense." He spoke. He wanted to laugh out heartily at her horrified expression. He noticed how her gaze softened. She was scared of him, but no more.
Anika wriggled with all her might. She tilted her head up to look at him and found him gazing at her. It wasn't that stone-like hard or ice-like cold gaze, it was something beyond her understanding.
Their eyes met. He leaned closer as though he was being steadily drawn to her. Anika looked at his lips which were slightly parted. She had stopped struggling. She patiently awaited the moment when his lips would settle on hers. She closed her eyes. Waiting. The moment never came. She opened her eyes when she felt his grip loosen. She gulped stepping away. What was up with her? She hated him. She reminded herself that. 'Hate him. Hate. Only hate. Nothing else.' Those words rang in her head. Yet her eyes looked at him like he was her prince charming.
Anika wasn't aware of what was happening. Not even had a hint that something was happening. But Shivaay saw it. As much as he wanted to kiss her, his mind forced him to step away. She had forgotten what the devil felt like. He must remind her. He stared at her. The announcement of the lift rang announcing the floor.
"I don't care how, but rules are rules. You need to follow them. " saying that he stepped out walking away briskly. Anika stared at his retreating figure. He was a pain and she was getting addicted to him.

Looking at her watch Anika hurried down the corridors. Her legs ached. It had been three days since she had been attending the self-defense workshop and the personality development sessions. Both the teachers were excellent, but somehow they both always aimed at her. The coach who taught them self-defense was a retired army general. He was strict and made them work out before actually starting the session. Today Anika had aching limbs. He had literally made her practice forty more of those kicks. While others had left after the first twenty. Apparently she hadn't been doing it right. She wasn't the only one. There were other three women too. Soon after that, she had rushed for her PD session. The woman who was their guide was another level of perfection. She preferred them dressed well for the sessions. However today Anika had broken that rule and had barged in five minutes late in her sports pants and tee. Well, that landed her with extra assignments as a penalty. She had to work on group conversation etiquette and workplace ethics.
Right now it was nine-thirty in the night and she was almost jogging down the deserted corridors of the office. She was sure that the devil had some hand in making her a favorite among the trainers. What was his problem in life? To top all of the training, he had asked her to shortlist from among a thousand applicants in three days. She was required to go through every application in detail. However, Anika had skimmed through most. She had met her deadline today evening and given him the list. The interviews were supposed to start the following day. Perhaps, she would have an easy day at the work desk.
Anika steeped out and frowned. It was raining cats and dogs. The atmosphere inside the office would never give you an idea if the weather. The office was just like the CEO. Something on the outside and something else on the inside. Anika swiped her screen with the intention of booking a cab. As always luck favored her so well, not a single available cab. "Wonderful!" She muttered. She had so much to do, those assignments to work on, once she got home. And here she was with no idea how she'd reach home.
