hayley walked to her period three class in boredom. she missed phoenix and not because of the weather but because of the school. hayley thought that the school in phoenix was better than the one on forks because there was more drama, and everyone knows that drama leads to fights and if there is one thing that hayley loves in life, it's fighting. she loves the thrill that comes with it and it gives her an excuse to take her anger out on someone.

"hey what's wrong?"

rose asked as she and emmett sat down at their assigned desk which was shared with their mate. hayley looked up and the first thing that she noticed was how beautiful rosalie looked today. lately hayley had always become distracted whenever the two were around and she didn't know why. this always annoyed her just as much as it confused her.

hayley shook her head when she noticed that the couple were still waiting for an answer.

"i'm hungry and bored, mostly bored."

she replied, emmett and rosalie both frowned thinking that they were the reason that their mate was bored. hayley saw their expressions and was quick to shake her head.

"it's not because you two! it's just because there's nothing interesting that goes on around here."

hayley explained causing the two vampires to sigh in relief.

"what do you mean that nothing interesting goes on around here?"

rosalie asked generally curious.

"what i meant is that nothing ever happens around here. in phoenix however, there was always drama going on!"

hayley whined. emmett leaned forward in his seat and looked into his human mates hazel coloured eyes.

"why do you want drama to happen?"

he asked.

"because drama equals scraps and scraps equal a very happy hayley! i mean like that was the only reason i even went to school!"

hayley whined as she looked at the couple. emmett let out a laugh that echoed through the classroom and drawing attention to themselves. rosalie quickly slapped emmett on the back of the head causing him to pout. hayley watched the pair interact, as she continued to watch them she couldn't help but feel envious of their relationship. sure she's had last relationships but her exes always turned out to be assholes and she would always dump them.

"you like fighting?" rosalie asked her young mate who eagerly nodded in response.

"who wouldn't? i love the thrill that you get from fighting. it's exhilarating!"

hayley said as clapping her hands together. emmett smiled as he continued to watch his adorable mate who rambled on about her fights and how many people were afraid of fighting her because of how ruthless she could be. however, his playfulness disappeared when he hear one specific sentence that stood out to him.

"wait what?"

he asked seriously causing both girls to look at him. rosalie who was too engrossed in their mates beauty hadn't heard what hayley had said and was confused about how fast emmett's persona had changed.

"who hurt you?"

emmett demanded causing rosalie's head to snap to their mate. both vampires eyes were now as black as obsidian. their overprotective natures showed as the two began to growl at the thought of their mate getting hurt.

"this guy named chick henderson. he was the school jock back in phoenix and his girlfriend maddison, hated me and she always used to make up lies about me and then chick would always confront me after school. i fought back most of the time but i couldn't do much since he was the same size as emmett and was twice as strong as me. my best friend connor had to teach chick a lesson before he could finally leave me alone."

hayley looked towards emmett and noticed how tightly he was gripping the desk.

"that was ages ago though and he laid off."

hayley quickly added hoping to ease the thick tension that was in the air. rosalie turned towards emmett and put her hand onto his shoulder hoping to calm him down. however, her efforts were fruitless because emmett stood up and stomped away still growling. rosalie quickly got up and followed her boyfriend still trying to calm him down. the pair ignored the teachers commands to sit down and continued in their way out the door.

hayley who was now left alone looked around and noticed how everyone was staring at her table. hayley glared at the nosey students.

"what?"

she asked loudly causing everyone to look away in fright at the girls temper. however, the said girl couldn't help but feel like emmett's anger was caused by her and she felt sad and guilty.

meanwhile, with emmett and rosalie the two gold eyed vampires walked out to emmett's jeep and got in. emmett turned the jeep on and reversed out of the parking lot and he sped towards their house where esme was waiting out in the front lawn, a frown on motherly face.

"emmett? rose? what's going on? why aren't you two in school?" the matriarch of the coven asked her two eldest children.

"emmett got angry during class." rosalie replied as she watched her mate punch a tree into the ground.

"why what happened?" esme asked her blonde haired daughter.

"we were in class with hayley and then we found out that she was hurt by some guy from her old school."

rosalie growled as emmett roared in fury. esme quickly called her children and carlisle and asked them to return home to help her calm their siblings down.

ten minutes later, the rest of the cullen family arrived in edwards volvo and carlisle in his car. they immediately rushed over to esme who quickly explained to them why emmett was so angry. rosalie has calmed down but was still angry and was glaring at the ground hatefully.jasper used his powers to calm emmett down enough so that he stopped punching things over. when emmett was calm enough to talk, edward and carlisle approached the biggest cullen and attempted to calm the bear like man down. it took them another eight minutes before they could fully talk to emmett without him growling.

"i get that your angry but as she said emmett, she's fine now."

edward said as emmett stood up and dusted his pants off and nodded.

"sorry."

he said while rosalie nodded in agreement. the other coven members all shook their heads, dismissing their apology.

"it's alright son. hayleys your mate and you two were just being protective over her."

carlisle said as he smiled at his eldest children who nodded in response.

"why don't we all go hunting?"

esme suggested knowing that this would take emmett's and rosalie's mind off of what had occurred only half an hour ago. everyone nodded and they were skin off, running through the woods. the kids all having a friendly competition on who could catch the most prey, whereas their parents just stood back and laughed at their children's antics.
