Chapter 10: Friend or Foe?

??? POV

???: Hey sweety

Leon looked over his shoulder and froze upon who he saw. It was none other than Skarlet Rose.

Leon: The hell?! How'd you find us??!

Skarlet: Oh I just followed my heart is all

Leon: Cut it! What do you want?!

Skarlet: You already know.  She said with a wink.

Marie also recognized the octoling.

Marie: (Its her! I saw her through Leons battles...who is she? And why is she calling Leon cutie?) She thought now mad.

Marie: Leon, who is this?

Skarlet: Glad you asked, names Skarlet Rose. Commander of the octarian army!  She did a pose and Leon just scoffed.

Leon: Skarlet huh? It fits

Skarlet: So what do we have here? You two are all hooked up now is that it?

Leon and Marie looked at each other then back at Skarlet with a serious look. Skarlet looked at Marie up and down them smirked

Skarlet: Geez Leon, you could've picked someone better, like me

Marie snarled

Marie: What did you just say?!

Skarlet: Aw its nothing to get upset about...some people aren't as sexy as some people

Marie was boiling. She was about to fight Skarlet but Leon put his arm out stopping her. He spoke:

Leon: I'll handle this, just go back to the HQ where its safe. Don't worry about her. Shes just...different...

Marie: No im not leaving. After what she said!? Im fightin--

A blob of ink hit Marie right in the side knocking her back and falling near a tree.

Leon: Marie!!! He turned to Skarlet. You BASTARD!

He ran to check on Marie. He put two fingers on her pulse. Shes breathing, but out cold. The shock from the shot must've knocked her out. Leon then felt a sharp point on his back. Skarlet had a splat knife to his neck. She spoke:

Skarlet: Oh Leon...Why can't you just join me? Things would be so much easier

Leon: My allegiance is to the Splatoon!

Skarlet: With her?! She can't even get up from a single ink shot! Shes pathetic! Weak! Nothing more than a bug in my way!

Leon grew tense. All of his anger and rage was building up. Seeing Marie unconscious and Skarlet showing up, made him turn into an animal. Leon did a quick turn and kicked Skarlet, sending her back a little ways.

Skarlet got up but was immediately taken down again with Leon tackling her to the ground.

Leon: GIVE ME 3 REASONS WHY I SHOULDN'T KILL YOU!

Skarlet grew nervous. She knew Leon was one hell of soldier and she didn't want him to hurt her. She had feelings for him, she never wanted to fight.

Skarlet: Ok, reason 1-My army are IDIOTS so Im the only one who can take you down! Reason 2-Everyone is to much of a wuss to face you! And reason 3...I just wanted to see you...

Leon wasn't buying it. He was still on top of her, ready to attack. Skarlet had a smirk on her face.

Skarlet: What are you gonna do?
