Summer with the Lynches (Raura)

Time

Laura's pov:

(30 minutes after she told ross her heart could stop functioning)

This summer was supposed to be me, with the Lynches, at their cottage, just chilling, and having fun.

Ross and I finally made our peace.

We were supposed to be hanging out with no care in the world.

I'm supposed to be pulling pranks on him, going to the beach with everyone, eating ice cream till I look like i'm pregnant, staying up late watching movie marathons, starting a summer romance, starting my music, i dont know, anything !

But what I do know is that I wasn't supposed to be stuck in the hospital on my death bed !

When I told Ross about what could happen he ran.

Just like that he ran. Out of the room to who knows where.

I sighed just as Rydel and Riker burst through the doors breathing heavily

Laura: I wanna know but i'm afraid to ask... (I said caustiously) What happned?

Rydel: I .. Hate ... Old people.. (She said breathing heavily)

Riker: We.. were down there.. for 40 minutes... oh my g~d..

Laura: ... Okay... (i said awkwardly)

Rydel walked over to my bed after she caught her breathe.

Rydel: How you feeling ?

She sat on the edge of my bed holding my hands carefully as if I were a piece of really old paper that would crumple at the slightest touch.

Laura: Delly.. I have an infection, i'm not 100 years old.

She stared at me widely before releasing my hands mumbling a sorry.

Laura: it's fine (I chuckled) it's nice to feel someone's touch besides the doctors. Ever since Ross found out my arms were soar he's... He's kept his distance..

I don't know why but that pained me.

Rydel: Hey, it's okay. Give him time.

Laura: Yeah... (I mumbled looking down) Something I never seem to have...
