Chapter 16- Crush?

The next day I was upset I was thinking of my mom. I went downstairs to see Alex sitting at the table eating some eggs and toast.

"Hey bud" he said

"Hey" I said in a upset way

"What's the matter bud?" He said as he was very concerned

"I really miss mom, I really need to spend some time with her alone" I say and a tear rolled down my rosy cheek.

" Oh bud I know" he says gets up and pulls me into the best big brother hug.

"When summer break or winter break comes can I go spend time with her please?" I ask

"Of course bud" he said now stroking my hair which made me blush a little bit.

I let go of him and go to the pantry and grab some cereal from the cabinet. Reese's puffs.

I pulled out the box and there stood Alex shaking his head no.

"Alex stop your at home!" I joked and poured myself a bowl.

After breakfast I went to the bathroom brushed my teeth and proceed back to my bedroom and started homeschool.

I hear the door close downstairs indicated Alex has left for work.

A few hours later I finished my homeschool then I got changed then headed downstairs and  got my shoes on and grabbed my house key and phone and left the house locking it behind me.

I went to the nearby park and laid in the grass thinking about life. I closed my eyes and fell asleep for a few minutes. I woke up to someone's voice it was a girls voice.

I open my eyes to see a girl around my age looking down at me.

"Uh hi" I said shyly now sitting up in the grass.

"Hey it seems like you fell asleep there?" She questioned not shy at all.

"Yea" I said rubbing the back of my neck, this situation was really awkward.

She chuckled. "Well my name is Grace" she said now sitting down in the grass across from me.

"Hi Grace I'm Jaxon" I say while looking up to her and noticing her beautiful blond hair in braids.

Holy Shit she looked cute.

"Nice to meet you Jaxon" she said

"Yea" I say

"You know I've seen you somewhere?" She said

"Where?" I ask

"Dr. Wilson's office" Grace said

"Oh" I say looking the other direction

"What's wrong?" She asked softly

"The dentist I hate it there" I say now turning my gaze to her again

"Why Dr.Wilson is super nice" she explains

"Alex is not always nice to me" I mumble

"Who is Alex?" Grace asked

"Dr. Wilson, full name is Alex L. Wilson" I say

"How do you know him that well?" She asked

"Well because he is my older brother" I say

"Ohh.." She says looking down

"So he's hard on me with his dentistry crap" I sighed

"I feel so bad for you Jaxon" she explained

"Yea, just wish I can see my mom again I miss her so much she is a recovering alcoholic" I say now stretching my legs out

"So that's why you live with Alex?" She said

"Yes but I'm gonna see her soon be away for a few days with her" I say now standing up and stretching

"That's good" she said now also standing up.

We walked to the exit. She hands me a slip of paper it had her phone number and xoxo on it

Did she have a crush on me?
