GRACE POV
I woke up around 7 am to the loudest crack of thunder which woke me up... I'm not a big fan of thunderstorms especially when I'm trying to sleep..
I rolled over and went on my phone and checked social media...
10 minutes later I get out of bed grab some clothes and head to the shower.
I get out 15 min later get dressed and brush my teeth then head downstairs.
My mom was sitting at the breakfast bar on her laptop like usual.
"Hey mom" I say
"Hey Grace" she says
"Ugh.. I'm not ready for today" I mumble to myself
"Well.. that's what you get for not telling me sooner" she says
She was on Dr. Wilson's side.. I mean Alex's side.
It's gonna take a while for me to call my dentist Alex I'm so used to calling him Dr.Wilson
At least I don't have braces.. yet anyways
"Your appointment is in half of an hour we have to leave soon" mom said
I sigh unhappily I get my shoes on and grab my things then me and my mom went to the car in the garage.. and we got in after mom locks up the house.
We drove to the office it was still raining outside we soon arrive and my nerves went through the roof... I hate needles in general.. I hope he numbs me I am so scared... we get out of the car and lock it and went inside the office and check in and take a seat..
5 minutes later Jason emerges through the door with a patient. I think he was Alex's assistant.
He starts scanning the people in the room. "Is there a Grace Dixon here?"
I roll my eyes and stand up and Jason turns his gaze towards me. "You Grace Dixon?"
"Yea" I sigh and approach him
"Dr. Wilson is waiting for us" he says as he leads me on back where the exam rooms were
"He lets me call him Alex" I chuckle
"Oh really.. well I'm Jason" he says
We arrive to the exam room where Alex was waiting for us.
"Hello Grace!" Alex said in a happy tone
"Hi.." I mumble and sit in the chair
"I promise it won't be that bad.. it might be uncomfortable but it's bearable" Alex says as he snaps on some gloves and mask then reclined me back.
"You want numbing jelly?" Alex asks. Jason puts the bib on me then puts on his gloves and mask.
"Please" I say
"Alrighty Jason would you put the numbing jelly on the gum line of tooth 14" Alex asks kindly
"Of course" Jason said
I open my mouth and let him rub the numbing jelly on my gum. It began feeling tingly.
"It feels weird" I chuckle
"It's going to, so you won't feel the needle as much" Alex states
"N-needle?" I start to worry
"To numb you" Alex says
"I-I don't like needles P-please don't do it" I say
"I'm sorry but it needs to be done.. I promise it's only a small pinch and you'll feel much better after" he says
I close my eyes tight and open really wide "hurry up"
I felt a slight pinch as it went it but it was really quick and the needle was out and half of my face began to feel numb
We wait a few minutes and Alex says "are you numb?"
"Yea" I say
"Alright shall we get started then" Alex said
I nod.
Alex grabs the drill, Jason uses his water and suction.
They begin.
Luckily it didn't hurt much but it was slightly uncomfortable.
He drilled for a few minutes then stopped and looks at it with a mirror and uses the drill again.
He uses this other tool thingy and began cleaning the roots.
Then once he was finished he filled with composite and pops a crown on my tooth.
It was slightly uncomfortable how he pushed it down and heard a pop noise.
But it was bearable.
Once he was done he made sure everything was good and removes his gloves and mask, so does Jason.
Then removes my bib and returns the chair to normal state
"All done but I forgot to talk to you about something yesterday" Alex said
"Well what is it" I say
"Braces.. you need them, well I'll have to talk to your mom and you have to see our orthodontist for an exam" he says
I sigh as I didn't want them
"I'll call your mom later this week and me and her will discuss and set an appointment with our orthodontist Mike" he says and I got up and walked down the hallway and tit he door which lead to the waiting room
Mom was talking to reception and paying the bill.
Me and mom went home shortly after I even got her to stop for ice cream.. which was a nice treat.
