[Your POV]
I was surprised by how high I made it up the mountain. I thought I would've immediately fell down towards the grass. But I had actually managed to get quite a ways up. I mean, I was so far up, I'm pretty sure I'd have been critically injured from any mistake. Revali stood at the top, beginning to tap his claws impatiently. "I'm waiting!" He said, making me frown.
"I'm climbing!" I yelled back, getting a good grip on a ledge. I pulled myself up and laid down on the ledge, catching my breath. I inhaled and then exhaled dramatically with a wheeze. Revali looked down the cliff, staring at me with an eyebrow raised. I gave a sigh and stood back up, getting ready to grab onto the edges of the mountain when something totally unexpected happened.
As my hand reached out, the ledge I was standing on suddenly began to crumble. There was that beginning crack, and then I was falling. "(Y/N)!" Revali cried, spreading his wings and flying down towards me.
"R-Revali!" I cried, holding out my hand for him. I was facing up, so it became hard to comprehend what happened next. I closed my eyes and suddenly I was in someone's arms. The thing was, these weren't the feathery wings of Revali. These arms...seemed human.
There was a gasp and suddenly we were on the ground. I opened my eyes and turned to the person who saved me. He looked down at me, his blue eyes staring into my soul. "Oh. Well if it isn't the little warrior himself." Revali said as he landed on the ground with ease. "I could've caught them, you know."
Link nodded, setting me on the ground. "I know." He said in a monotone voice. He didn't seem to be the type to talk too much.
"Oh my!" A feminine voice cried as she ran towards us. She stopped when her eyes landed on. "A human!" She said excitedly. "Hello! I am Zelda!" She hurried over to me, bowing eagerly.
My face burned with blush, both because of Link catching me and Zelda bowing to me. "Oh! I'm (Y/N)!" I said, trying to bow deeper than Zelda. "I-I should be bowing to you! You are a princess after all!"
She stood up straight and giggled. "There is no need. I hope me being a princess does not make you think differently of me." She said with a smile. I understood. She was wanting me to treat her as a person, not a princess.
"Y-Yes." I said, standing up straight. "I-I can do that." She laughed, Link smiled, Revali scoffed, and I just stood there embarrassingly.
"Now, what were you doing up on the cliff?" She asked, looking at the crumbled ledge.
"Oh. Revali asked me to race him." I said, pointing at Revali. He shot me a look, telling me to shut up.
"Well, you made it halfway." Link said. "It seemed like you were doing good." He looked over at Revali, who turned away.
"Okay. So are we going to have this meeting or what?" Revali asked impatiently. "I do assume you are here to discuss the human, the malfunctioning guardian, and what we came to talk about in the first place, Your Highness."
"Impatient, aren't we, Revali?" Link said in an innocent tone. Revali just glared.
"Of course! Daruk should be here any minute, and the same goes for Urbosa." Zelda said.
"Uh, if you don't mind me asking, princess." I said, grabbing her attention. "How long does it usually take for each champion to get here? Like, from their town to here?"
"Well, it would take a matter of days, depending on how they travel. For Urbosa, it usually takes here around a day or two. Revali, maybe a day." She said. "As for Daruk, it should only take him a couple hours. He lives closest to Zora Domain out of all the champions. But it also does depend on what they encounter, how they choose to travel, and who they take with them."
Suddenly, a zora guard approached them, bowing. "Your Highness, Champion Daruk has arrived." He said. She thanked him and he left.
"Ooh! This is so exciting!" She said. "You are going to love Daruk."
As the four of us, Revali, Link, Zelda, and I, were walking back into Zora Domain, I decided to ask something that had kind of been on my mind the moment Link and Zelda had shown up. "Shouldn't you have some bodyguards or something, Zelda?" I asked, looking around curiously.
"Link is my bodyguard." She said with a grin. "Isn't that right, Link?" He nodded, smiling himself. Even so, when we entered Zora Domain, there were, in fact, a couple hylian guards stationed around the entrances.
"Guys!" A booming voice shook me as a massive boulder came tumbling towards us. Wait, that wasn't a boulder! I watched as the happy goran pulled Revali into some sort of bear hug.
"ACK!" Revali squaked. Link let out a chuckle while Zelda was struggling to hold in her laugh. I smiled at the scene. "DARUK! How many times to I need to say it!?"
"Oh! Right!" Daruk said, putting Revali down. "Princess." He turned to Zelda and bowed, who neatly curtsied back. "Little guy!" Daruk ruffled Link's hair with his massive hands. Then he stopped in front of me. He stared down at me. As I looked up at him, I could hear his theme playing in my head. The horns blaring with the soft tune coming next. Daruk...
"Champion Daruk!" I said, trying to make a serious face. "I'm (Y/N). It is nice to meet you!" There was silence for a moment as I held out my hand, ready for him to shake. Then, he gripped my hand so hard, I thought it would break.
"It's nice to meet you too!" He said, giving a belly laugh. He seemed to give off a very happy and magical vibe. Sort of like seeing Santa Claus at the mall as a kid. Even though I'm pretty sure he was crushing my hand, he seemed very kind. Suddenly, the image of him getting scared of that dog came across my mind, the one from the memory, and I couldn't help but smile. "I like you! You have spirit! That's probably why Revali here likes you too!"
"I do not." Revali said, staring at the ground.
"See! Look at him!" Daruk said, finally letting go of my hand. "He can't even admit it!" I just couldn't stop smiling. Even though I had nearly died not even an hour ago, I was grinning from ear to ear.
I was inside The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. I didn't even care if this was a dream or a reality. The feeling just made me so happy. Although it was still hard to believe sometimes, at times like this, with all these characters acting like the best of friends, it seemed real. It was real.
"(Y/N)." Zelda said. "Are you okay? You are crying." Suddenly everyone stopped and stared at me.
"Huh?" I said, wiping a hand across my face. I felt tears. "Don't worry, Zelda. These are tears of joy."
"Tears of joy?" Revali asked, almost sarcastically. "It makes you happy to see me suffer at the hands of these three?" He pointed to Zelda, Link, and Daruk.
"Well, it's just that...you guys seem like the best of friends." I said. "Where I come from...I don't really have any of those. Not even my family..." I trailed off. I was becoming emotional. I looked up at everyone's faces. Revali's face had softened, and he seemed almost guilty.
Zelda quickly attempted to lighten the mood. She called over a guard who handed her a pile of clothes. "Here, (Y/N)!" She stood in front of me, wiping a tear away. "These are for you! I see why Mipha asked to get you some. You still have some blood on your shirt." She handed you the clothes. She was right. I still did have some blood on my shirt and pants from the guardian attack.
"Oh. Thank you, Zelda." I said politely. "But, uh...I don't know where to get dressed." I muttered awkwardly.
"I can help you with that." Link said. "I know this place like the back of my-"
"I would prefer it if someone else went with them." Revali said, interrupting Link. Just then, Revali called a zora guard and asked them to show me where the bathroom was.
"Do you not trust me, Revali?" Link asked, placing a hand on his chest in mock hurt.
"No. I don't." He said bluntly. Link raised an eyebrow, but didn't press.
"You seem awfully protective of (Y/N), Revali." Daruk said with a smile. Revali just shook his head. Something did seem off about Revali. As I was led away by the zora guard, I noticed that Revali stared at me through the corner of his eye. There was something about the way he was staring. Almost like he was, in fact, awfully protective. But why? Could it have been because...?
"You just seem...very familiar..."
