[Your POV]

"So, where should we go first?" I asked as Ares galloped forward. Revali pulled a map out of his pack and laid it out across the back of his horse.

"I think we should head to the Gerudo Desert to start." Revali said, his feathered fingers flying across the map. "How long would you like this trip to last?"

"As long as it can, but we wanna be back to the Rito Village in time for the festival, right?" I asked. He nodded and looked back down at the map.

"In that case, we will make a bow." He said.

"A bow?" I asked. "Like one you shoot with, or one you wear?"

"Come." He said. Ares got as close to Aurora as he could without knocking into her. I peered at the map. Using his finger, he made a bow shape. "We are leaving the Rito Village and heading straight for Gerudo Desert, which is right below us on the map. Then we will head to Goron City towards Death Mountain." He signaled a diagonal line going through the map. "Then we shall make our way to the Zora Domain, if you wish." He brought his finger down to Zora Domain, which was right beneath Goron City. "Then, we shall head back to the Rito Village."

"We aren't gonna stop at Hyrule Castle?" I asked.

"If we are to get back in time for the festival, no." Revali said. "But do not worry. If it is the princess you are wanting to see, she will be too busy to spend time with you, sadly."

"Busy?" I asked.

"Well, she IS a princess AND the only one who can find the key to SEALING AWAY Ganon." Revali said, like everything was obvious. My face went red in embarrassment. Of course I wouldn't have been able to hang out with Zelda and Link. They're busy trying to seal the darkness. "But do not worry. I will tell her you were thinking of her." I smiled at that.

According to Revali's map, it would take at least a day to get to the Gerudo Desert.

As the sun began setting, we stopped at a Horse Stable. I climbed up some bales of hay, staring out at the sunset. My legs swung forward and back. It was sorta hypnotic. As I stared out at the rising moon, Revali whistled, catching my attention. "What are you staring at?" He asked.

"Um..." I said. "Staring at the moon, I guess. Sorry, I'm a bit tired."

"'A bit'?" He asked.

"Well, I'm kinda in that stage where I'm tired, but it would take me a while to fall asleep, ya know?" I said. He raised an eyebrow but nodded.

"Well, I think I know how to tire you out." He said. "Come down from there, I want to show you something."

"You seem to really like showing people stuff." I said, jumping off the hay bale with a bit of a skip at the end.

"Believe it or not, I don't do it often." Revali said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah yeah, you're so special." Revali said sarcastically. "Come on." He gestured for me to follow him. He led me to an area patterned with trees. Not like a forest, but a field where a couple trees just decided to grow. Revali took something from behind his back. It was then that I realised he was wearing his bow and arrows. He pulled the Great Eagle Bow in front of him, looking down at me. He handed it to me.

"...what?" I asked. The bow felt heavy and light at the same time. Heavy because it belonged to Revali, Rito Champion, pilot of divine beast Vah Medoh. The heaviness of all the pressure made me want to sink to the ground.

"Do you remember when I let you use the Eagle Bow when we first met because I could not?" He asked me. I nodded. "Well, you were surprisingly good at it, even without training. So now, I want to teach you how to properly use it."

"But, this is...the Great Eagle Bow!" I cried. "I know I've already used this before, but...why do you trust me with it?"

"I think I've said it before." Revali said. "There is something familiar about you. I'm trusting my gut, which is telling me to trust you." I looked up at him in shock and disbelief. "Besides, at least you aren't Link." This made me smile. He pointed to one of the trees. It wasn't too far but it wasn't too close. "Try hitting that one. In the trunk."

I nodded and pulled the bow up to my side. Just as the first time, it was a struggle to pull back the string. Only this time, it seemed harder. Maybe because it wasn't an emergency?

Revali gave a sigh and stood behind me, inserting an arrow in the string. "Did you even realise that there was no arrow to shoot?" He asked. My face went red in embarrassment. I was so focused on the bow, that I had completely forgot to put in an arrow! He smirked and put his wings on my hands, helping me position the arrow and the bow. His head laid on my shoulder as he tried figuring out a good angle. I stared straight ahead, but to be honest, I was totally panicking inside. The feeling of his body pressed against mine made me shake. "What? Are you nervous?" His hot breath in my ear...

"No!" I said, surprisingly without a stutter. He rolled his eyes and let go of me. I looked ahead at how he positioned the bow. He stared me for a second before whispering...

"Shoot."

I let go of the string and the arrow zipped through the air. I stumbled a bit, having been thrown off balance. We watched as the arrow found its way into the tree. I just stood there as the moon shined down on Revali and I. The wind gently blew my hair and his feathers. "Wow." I said, breaking the silence.

"'Wow' indeed." He said. "I thought you would need my help to shoot it."

"I am capable of doing stuff!" I cried, making him chuckle. He shook his head and we made our way to the stables to get some rest.
