[Your POV]

I woke to the feeling of feathers tickling my cheeks. I opened my eyes, seeing Revali snuggled against me. I smiled and kissed his cheek. As much as I wanted to stay in bed with Revali...the thought of Elder Ulli's death filled my mind. I eased out of Revali's grip and looked at myself. I was still wearing the formal clothes from last night. I must've passed out before getting dressed or anything like that. I opened the drawer and got dressed for the day, despite the sun not being up. I quickly looked at the doorway to find a pale brown curtain there. I gave a sigh of relief, looking back at the sleeping Revali. I planted another kiss on his head before walking out of my hut. The moon was about to go down and you could just see a bit of light over the horizon. It wasn't much, but it was enough for me to walk around.

The lack of light was surprisingly comforting in a way. I made my way down to the elder's hut, finding nothing. The hut had been cleaned out. No blood, not vases, no carpet, no nothing. They must've moved his body somewhere else. The place was empty and seemed...dead. It was so full of sadness. Weird, huh? How a place could be filled with such emotion, yet feel so empty. It was confusing. Death was confusing. I didn't really know Elder Ulli all too well, but I knew enough to know that he didn't deserve to die. He was a kind old rito, who loved to make jokes. He made me feel comfortable in a place where I stood out. A place that I now called my home. I gave a sigh and returned to my house. Revali was still sleeping on the bed. I sat down on a nearby wooden chair and picked the Sheikah Slate off the dresser. I stared into the black screen, occasionally tapping the screen. "Clarista...Victor...Piripi..." I mumbled.

The sudden noise of crying made me freeze to my chair. The shadow of a rito passed by the window. A fairly young one at that. I set down the Sheikah Slate and left my house again. The young rito was a brown color with white highlights. He also bore quite the resemblance to Elder Ulli.

"Hey, uh, kid! Where are you going?" I asked as the kid walked towards the entrance. He stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at me.

"You..." He said. "You're the person who likes Revali, aren't you?"

"...Y-Yeah." I said. "Who are you?"

"What's it to you?" He asked, turning his back on me.

"Kid!" I said. "Are you Kaneli?" He stopped again. I noticed he had a bag around his bag.

"...Yeah..." He said. He was so young, I was surprised I even recognized him. "B-But what does it matter to you!?"

"Your father...he told me to tell you that...he loves you..." I said, remembering Elder Ulli's words. "He loves you more than anything in the world, Kaneli."

"..." Kaneli stopped, looking up at me with teary eyes. He dropped his bag and began shaking. "...Did he mean it?"

"Of course he did, Kaneli. You meant everything in the world to him, Kaneli..." I said. "He said that you need to become the next elder and that you will...do a fantastic job... So please don't run away, Kaneli. We'll miss you if you do..." I began crying with Kaneli.

"Kaneli! Kaneli!" A voice called. A female rito came into view, scooping up Kaneli in her arms. "Kaneli, are you okay-" Her eyes landed on the bag lying on the ground. She picked it up and started walking away, but as she passed me, she whispered in my ear. "Thank you for stopping my son." Before I could respond, she was gone, disappearing with the rising sun.

"(Y/N)!" I heard Revali cry. I didn't respond, but he still found me. "(Y/N)? What's wrong? Did something happen?"

"Kaneli tried to run away." I said, leaning my head into his shoulder. "I told him...what Elder Ulli told me to say to him...how he loved him and needed to become the next elder..." Revali embraced me, stroking my hair.
