[Your POV]

It's been a few days since Elder Ulli's funeral and the Rito Village was doing their best to get settled back into their normal lifestyle. But with the festival and then the death of their leader, it was tough. I decided to go out and help take down the festival decorations with Kass' grandfather, holding the ladder for him when he climbed up in high places. "(Y/N)!" Revali called, getting my attention.

"Revali, what's up?" I asked.

"So, um, I was wondering if you...um...wanted to kinda go on a date with me?" Revali asked nervously. "I mean, it's not like you have to-"

"Of course I wanna go on a date with you, sweetie~" I said with a smile.

"O-Oh! Okay!" Revali stuttered. "Wait, 'sweetie'? You just called me 'sweetie'."

"Yeah." I said. "Do you not like your little nickname?"

"I-I like it! Don't change it!" Revali said. I giggled. "So, um, I'll meet you at your hut at noon?"

"Of course~" I cooed, making Revali blush. As Revali left to help the Rito Village with Kaneli. A date...a date with Revali! I got so excited, I almost let go of the ladder.

~~~~~
While inside my hut, I worried about what to wear. I went through my clothes and decided on a white button up shirt with (F/C) (pants/a skirt). After putting on my choice of shoes, I noticed someone peeking through the curtain.
"R-Revali!" I cried, my face going bright red. "You perv!"
"I wasn't trying to peep, I swear!" He said. I raised an eyebrow and he gave a sigh. "I-I was wondering if you were here or not, that's all!"
"Hehe, it's okay, Revali." I said, walking up to him and placing a kiss on his beak. Even though we hadn't been together all that long, it all came naturally, like it was destiny for us to be together...or something like that. "So, where're we going?"
"Oh, not too far from here." Revali said. "Ares and Aurora are waiting for us~" Offering me his hand, the two of us left my hut, finding our horses at the entrance of the Rito Village with a guard and...Kaneli.
"Hey, Kaneli!" I said, smiling at him. He was petting both Ares and Aurora at the same time and giggled everytime they snorted or whined. "You like the horses?"
"Yes! Very much!" Kaneli said.
"Maybe one day, we can take you for a ride on them, if you want." I said. Kaneli nodded eagerly. I ruffled his head feathers as Revali and I hopped on the backs of Ares and Aurora. After waving goodbye to Kaneli, we began riding towards the Tabantha Tower.
~~~~~

It didn't take too long to get there, but the real chore would be climbing it. "No flying." Revali said. "Even for me."

"Really?" I asked. "Do you think you'll be able to handle it?" I smirked at him and he scoffed.

"Of course I will. You know what, why not make this a competition?" Revali said. "Whoever gets to the top first wins."

"What do we get if we win?" I asked.

"Well, the person who loses will have to do whatever the winner tells them for a whole day!" Revali said.

"Is this your idea of a date?" I asked. I mean, it was fun, but it didn't seem like your average date.

"We can go and get some food after this. Winner's choice!" Revali said. I smiled. "On the count of three." We both gripped the tower's climbing holes, ready. "One, three! GO!"

"Wha- Revali!" I shouted as he began climbing. I began climbing after him. I thought back to that time Revali challenged me to climb that cliff at Zora Domain. It was one of the first days we spent together after we saved each other from that guardian. I smiled mischievously. I'm a lot more capable now than I was back then! I caught up with Revali.

"No! I will boss you around for an entire day with a worthy excuse!" Revali said, making me laugh. I almost lost my footing, but I was able to keep up with Revali's pace. Then I noticed something. A greenish aura surrounding him.

"Hey! You can't use your gale! That's cheating!" I said as Revali's pace quickened. Soon, he would be the one to reach the top.

"I just said no flying! I am simply using my resources, (Y/N)~" Revali said with a sly smirk. I growled. He knew what he was doing. I stopped and thought back to the game. Could I possibly jump? It would be hard, since it's not something I'd really done before, but I should at least try. Besides, if I fall, Revali will fly to catch me, therefore disqualifying him and crowning me the winner. I took a deep breath and gave it a shot. Revali froze when he saw what I was doing, looking ready to catch me at any moment. I bent my legs and jumped, reaching for the holes in the tower. I clamped my hands down on the holes in the tower, shoving my feet in them too. I did it! I jumped! I looked up at Revali with a new sense of superiority and jumped again. And again! But Revali was quicker and my success soon went to waste when he jumped up to the top of the tower, staring down at me from the platform. "You know what this means, (Y/N)! Get ready to kiss my feet!"

"Gross!" I shouted back with a laugh. This was fun. It was nice...to forget everything that had happened these past few days. As I looked out at the view, I thought about how Revali and I were finally together. I stopped and watched Vah Medoh fly over the Rito Village, protecting it... I smiled when I saw the Great Fairy Fountain. Kaneli will be a great leader, I know it.

As I continued climbing up the tower, I felt this...sudden feeling of dread. Like something awful was about to happen at any moment. It made me freeze, gripping the holes of the Tabantha Tower. "(Y/N)? Are you okay?" Revali checked on me. I tried to nod, but I couldn't. I couldn't shake my head, or continue climbing. I couldn't even let go of the tower. Then it happened...the land of Hyrule began to shake. An earthquake. It had to just be an earthquake. If it was, it was incredibly strong. So strong, my hands slipped and I started falling. "(Y/N)!" But this wasn't like last time, when Revali was too slow and Link caught me instead. Revali was fast, catching me and landing on the ground in a matter of seconds. "(Y/N), are you okay!?"

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine!" I finally said, but the ground was still shaking. Revali held me tightly, leading me away from Tabantha Tower. Ares and Aurora were whining, but before we could unleash them from a tree, the shaking stopped. The four of us stood there in silence until a rito fell from the sky, landing elegantly on the ground. It was Tuva!

"Champion Revali, (Miss/Mister) (Y/N)!" Tuva said. "You have an urgent message from Princess Zelda!"

"Princess Zelda..." I mumbled as Tuva held out a letter. Revali took it from him and opened it. As Tuva flew back to the village, Revali began reading the letter out loud.

"'Dear (Y/N) and Revali, I fear we are under attack from a great evil we had thought was long gone. Please come to the East Gate as soon as you possibly can. Yours truly, Princess Zelda.'" He finished. My heart stopped. 'A great evil'. If that's not Calamity Ganon, I don't know what is. "Come. Since it's an emergency, we'll take Vah Medoh."

Vah Medoh...

"(Y/N), come on!" Revali said, picking me up, helping me get on top of Ares. I couldn't just tell Revali not to go, because even if he didn't, the darkness will spread all over Hyrule. Besides...he's the Rito Champion, Revali... It's his duty to protect Hyrule and now it's mine. Zelda called for the both of us, so we'll go...together.

When we got to the Rito Village, Revali handed Ares and Aurora over to a guard. But as soon as Revali and I let go of the reins, the horses began to panic and whine, kicking everywhere they could. I was startled. But they didn't look crazy, they looked distressed. Like...they knew something terrible was about to happen. I climbed on Revali's back and we flew up to Vah Medoh. Revali immediately went for the controls. Feeling Vah Medoh in motion was amazing. But it was hard to enjoy a moment that was supposed to be so beautiful when a cloud of dread hung over my head.
