[Your POV]
I laid down on Ares' back, stroking his side as he clopped forward. Link and Zelda were on either side of me, Revali flying overhead. We've been going on like this for a couple days, but it was only then when I looked up to find the sun setting over Hyrule Castle. "Wow..." I said, sitting up, looking at the castle. "It's even bigger in person..."
I looked over at Zelda, who stood up straight, seeming much more formal than usual. Link was staring up at the castle, a blank look on his face. The horses stopped at the entrance. I peered in. Inside was the kingdom. Hylians were everywhere, along with some other races. If you kept going forward, there was a path that led to Hyrule Castle.
Revali landed beside me. "Why did we stop?" I asked him.
"I'm going to walk on the ground with you lot." Revali said. "Try not to get distracted by the town. This should just be an in and out trip. Alright, let's go." Revali held onto Ares' and we entered the kingdom.
The moment we entered, I heard many Hylians shout out. "Princess Zelda! And the hero, Link!" A small child yelled, pointing at Link and Zelda.
"What is the Champion Revali doing here?" Another Hylian asked.
"Who cares about that? Who's that on the black horse? I've never seen them before!" A Hylian man shouted. Suddenly the town was full of chatter as we rode along the path leading to the castle. Zelda looked out to the crowds and waved, smiling gently. Link nodded to some Hylians. But when I looked down at Revali, he had his eyes straight ahead, not paying any attention to the crowds.
"Why aren't you waving or anything like that, Revali?" I asked.
"Like I said, don't get distracted. Besides, everyone here has their eyes on the Princess and the boy." Revali said, not bothering to look at me. I frowned slightly.
I couldn't help but let my eyes wander the crowd. My eyes landed on a little Goron boy. He looked familiar but I don't know why. He had orange-ish skin and white-ish hair. We made eye contact. I smiled and waved at him. A huge grin came over his face and he smiled back. I let out a giggle as we went through the town.
We began climbing the upwards path to the castle. We soon came to the front doors. Three guards appeared and took the horses. I watched as they took Ares away. Zelda laid a hand on my shoulder. "Do not worry. You will see him again." She said, smiling warmly. I touched her hand and nodded.
We entered the palace, Zelda and Link in front with me and Revali behind. I stared up at the beautiful tapestries that laid on the walls. There were paintings, and the use of blue made me feel happy. I suddenly felt someone pushing me forward. I looked over at Revali. His wing was behind my back. "What are you doing that for?" I asked him.
"You're slowing down." He said. "You're friends with the princess, there's no doubt she'll invite you here to have some 'sleepover' or something. Besides, what did I tell you about getting distracted?"
"To not to..." I said, taking my eyes away from the art. "Can you at least take your wing off my back? I feel like a prisoner." Revali removed his wing without a word. It was strange. The town, the decorations, the colors, everything visual seemed so happy about the kingdom. But everyone seemed really tense.
We eventually came to a door, where we were stopped by a pair of guards. "Welcome home, Princess Zelda. Is there something you need?" One asked.
"Yes. I would like to see my father. The King." Zelda said, standing up straight.
"Your father is busy with something right now." The other guard said. "We will come fetch you when he is available."
"But I need to see him now." Zelda said. She gestured for me to stand next to her, so I did. Zelda tapped the Sheikah Slate attached to my arm. Zelda had provided me with short sleeve clothes, making it easier for me to wear clothes. Luckily, it appeared to be Spring, so the weather was usually warm in places like Hyrule. "It is very important."
The guards studied my arm then turned back to Zelda. "Do you not have duties to attend to, Princess?" The first guard asked. Zelda shifted uncomfortably. The answer must've been 'yes', but she didn't say anything. The guards nodded to each other. "Your father is busy, and will be for a while. You and Link should go and attend to your duties. And..." They eyed me. "I honestly do not know what to do with this."
"I can handle them." Revali said, stepping forward.
"Thank you, Champion Revali." The guard said. "Come, Princess, Link." Zelda's head drooped as she was escorted away by a guard. When she looked back at me, I gave her a reassuring smile.
The second guard turned to Revali and me. "So, do you have a name that we could call for when the king is finished?" The guard asked.
"My name is (Y/N) (L/N)." I said. "I'm probably just gonna stick with Revali, so I guess, just look for him." The guard nodded and I turned to Revali. "So...what're we going to do?"
"I guess it can't be helped. The king of Hyrule is a busy man." Revali sighed. "I suppose I could show you around."
"You'd do that? But this place is so big." I said.
"Well, I know this place like the back of my hand. I am the Rito Champion after all." He said, shooting me a smirk. "Is there anywhere you want to start?"
"Well..." I looked around at the many corridors. I pointed to the one to our right. "That way."
"As you wish." Revali said, walking forward. "Just so you know, I'm only doing this because we have nothing else to do."
"Mhmmm." I said. "'I-It's not like I actually wanna show you around or anything! B-BAKA!'"
"What is with you and that!?" Revali asked as we strolled forward. "Is that your way of mocking me?"
"Is it working? Are you irritated?" I asked hopefully, looking up at him. He simply rolled his eyes and stared ahead. But I could've sworn, that at least for a second, he smiled.
