Chapter Forty-Four

[Your POV]

"(Y/N), stay here!" Revali said, smashing one of the glass windows. 

"I'm sorry, what!?" I cried, grabbing his wing. "You're not leaving without me! I have to help you!"

"No, you don't have to!" Revali said.

"But what about what we just did!?" I cried. "We beat Calamity Ganon's first stage! We did that together!"

"I won, (Y/N)..." Revali said.

"...What?" I asked, looking up at him with tears in my eyes.

"I won that challenge. To climb the Tabantha Tower." Revali said. "I won...and you have to do whatever I want."

"Revali-"

"I want you NOT to come with me!" Revali said. "You stay here and stay away from that Dark Beast Ganon thing!"

"No! Revali, are you kidding me!?" I cried. But he was serious. He stared at me with stern eyes.

"Stay here. I'll be back." He said, running through the broken window, flying into the night.

"REVALI!" I screamed. I would've jumped out the window, but he was already so far out and we were too high above the ground. "REVALI! NO!" Tears streamed down my face as I fell on my back in the throne room. "AGH!" I screamed, kicking up dust and throwing broken parts of the floor. My hand began bleeding from a cut from the glass. I was hyperventilating, staring at my bloodied hand. I need to go after Revali. I looked down at the Master Sword. Link trusted me with this...and I'm gonna use it. I'll use it to kill Ganon and protect Revali. 

I decided not to take the secret tunnel and went straight through the castle. I remember when Revali gave me a tour around the castle. I've been in this place hundreds of times, I know this castle in and out. 

"Did you just give me a tour of the castle all night?"

"Yes. Aren't I a trooper?"

Yes, Revali, you are a trooper, and I pray it won't be the death of you! I ran down the stairs so fast, I began tripping. But that didn't stop me. I ran past multiple monsters, including moblins, lizalfos, and more. Ganon guck was forming and sticking to the castle, but I didn't care. I just ran right through, too fast for the creatures to catch up with me. When I got to entrance, hundreds of Hyrule guards were fighting guardians. I couldn't see Zelda or any of the champions. That's when I heard a NEIGH. "ARES!" I looked over to see my black horse riding through the crowd. Ares rode towards me, only stopping to allow me to climb on his back. "How did you find me?" He must've escaped the Rito Village! "Revali! Take me that way! To Dark Beast Ganon! He's trying to kill him alone!" I pointed towards the huge field, where Revali would be fighting. 

Ares understood and practically flew through the crowd, dodging guardian after guardian. Ares was too quick for their lasers.

"So...this place is like heaven to you?"

Yes, Revali...but only if you're here with me...you have to be here with me. Because I love you! Because of Ares' insane speed, we were able to make it to the field pretty quickly. The scene that awaited me shocked me to the core. Revali laid on his side, obscured by the tall grass, but blood was still there. "Revali!" I cried, getting off Ares. Dark Beast Ganon just looked at us as I ran towards Revali. "Revali! Revali, speak to me!"

"Revali...? Revali...please respond..."

"Revali..." I mumbled, cradling his head in my arms. His feathers were covered in blood, mainly from a cut on his head. His wing was obviously broken, his bones sticking out. His eyes were closed and he was barely breathing. "Revali..." My tears stained his feathers. I kissed his beak and sat there on the ground, sobbing while holding the love of my life in my arms. My boyfriend, my childhood best friend, the rito I wanted to spend the rest of my life with...the rito who saved me multiple times over...the rito who was jealous of Link, who was so insecure that he felt the need to prove himself to everyone, even when he's already done so much...

"(Y/N)!" A voice cried. My eyes widened and I slowly looked behind me. Mipha...Urbosa...Daruk...Link...Zelda... They're all...here...and they were all...calling my name. They're alive!

"(Y/N)! Revali-" Mipha ran over to me, her eyes landing on Revali.

"Please, Mipha...heal him..." I begged in between sobs.

"It will take a lot of power, but...I'll do it." Mipha said. Urbosa and Daruk gently placed Revali on top of Ares with Mipha. She was going to heal Revali...Revali...

"Hey." Urbosa said, putting her hand on my shoulder. "Revali will be okay."

"Y-Yeah..." I nodded, wiping away my tears.

"You can scold him all you want after this." Daruk said with a laugh, hoping to cheer me up.

"Y-Yeah..." I said again, gripping the Master Sword.

"(Y/N)." Link said, looking at me. "You can do this. I know you can. You need to be one to kill Ganon."

"But...you're supposed to wield the Master Sword-" I started.

"No, you are supposed to." Link said. "If you won't do it for me, do it for Revali." I looked back at Revali, who was being healed by Mipha. Zelda made sure Ares wouldn't run away, but he didn't look like he wanted to. "You're supposed to kill Calamity Ganon."

"Link..." I mumbled. I didn't want to argue. I just wanted to kill Calamity Ganon. I gripped the hilt of my sword as Urbosa, Daruk, and Link stood around me, weapons drawn, ready to kill Ganon. I looked up to see Calamity Ganon charging towards us.

"(Y/N)!" Zelda screamed, running through the battlefield with a bow in her hand. "(Y/N), take this!" She shoved it in my hands. "I entrust you with the Bow of Light - a powerful weapon in the face of evil. (Y/N)...you may not yet be at a point where you have fully recovered your power or all of your memories...but courage need not be remembered...for it is never forgotten." She ran back to Revali and Mipha. I settled the bow around my shoulder without saying a word, gripping the sword with both hands. This would probably be easier with Ares, but he's watching over Revali for me, and that's more than I could ask for. I looked up at Ganon to find him still charging at us. He was close...

"FUCK YOU, GANON!" I screamed, and the four of us charged towards Ganon as I heard the low thuds of music blast through my mind.
