[Your POV]
"You know, this would probably be a lot faster if you had a horse." Revali commented as the two of us crossed the bridge. The sun had just barely rose into the sky as we packed up everything in the cave and started heading to Zora Domain.
"Yes, I know, Revali." I said, folding my arms to keep warm. "Unfortunately, I've never tamed a horse."
"You haven't?" Revali asked in surprise. I nodded. "Oh. I thought most Hylians your age knew how to do that."
"Um...I'm not a Hylian." I said, tucking my hair behind my ear. "See?"
Revali peered at my ear, his eyes widening. "Oh. So you're a human?" He said.
"Yes." I answered.
"Those are rare to find." Revali said. I raised my eyebrow at him but we didn't further the conversation. We were going down a path when Revali suddenly swept his good wing in front of me, halting us.
"What gives?" I asked.
"Get the bow out." He said, eyeing the river we were walking past. I was carrying Revali's bow and arrows since he couldn't. I looked at the river, trying to piece together in my head why we had stopped. As soon as I pulled the arrow from my back, a monster flew out of the water and shot a boulder at us. I gasped. "Octorok!"
It's gaping mouth opened, continuing to shoot boulders. Revali and I dove behind a rock, blocking the rocks. I peered to the side of the rock, hoping to get a better look at it when Revali pulled me back at the last second, as a rock was about to smash into my face. "T-Thanks!" I stuttered as he kept his good wing on me.
"You are now in debt to me." He said casually. "Now, use the bow!" I held up the bow, pulling back the string with a struggle. This bow was incredibly strong.
"W-Wait! Is this-!?" I cried as the sun shown over the rock. Truly, I had never gotten a good look at the bow. It had always seemed too dark to make out its features, but now, with the sun out and the rain gone, I could finally actually see what I was holding in my hands. "T-The Great Eagle Bow!?"
"Of course it is!" Revali said. "You think I would use some simpleton bow!?"
"N-No!" I said. "But it's such an amazing bow...why are you trusting me to use it?" I looked up at him with pleading eyes. He just stared at me, but soon turned his head harshly.
"I...well..." He seemed to struggle to find words. "Look, my wing is broken! That's why! Now shoot the thing so we can run!" He didn't look at me as I pulled out an arrow and settled it in the bow. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, telling myself that this SHOULD be fine. My eyes flew open and I jumped up and readied the bow. I pulled back the string. Inside, I could feel my stomach turning in nervousness as I released the arrow, not taking too much time to aim. The arrow hit the octorok straight in the head, knocking it back into the river.
"I...I did it, Revali!" I cried, jumping up and down with the bow. "I defeated it!"
"Really!?" Revali said, peering over the rock. He stood up. "You did it...without my help?"
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, crossing my arms, frowning.
"You just don't seem like the type to...uh...be good at fighting." Revali said. I opened my mouth to say something, but he stopped me. "But, you did alright." I figured, since it was Revali, I wasn't going to get a better compliment.
"I think I repaid my debt." I said. Revali looked down at me and suddenly stared behind me.
"Don't speak too soon!" Revali said, suddenly grabbing me and jumping behind the rock again. There was the sound of a large boulder slamming against the rock we were hiding behind.
