Ace's POV'S
I pressed the call button before putting it sa tenga ko. It made a ringing sound before someone spoke up.
"Cousin, what a pleasure to see your name sa home screen ko."
"Ryan, I need a favour," I said, not bothering to greet him.
"Hello to you too, dear cuz" sagot nya, sarcasm in his tone.
"I need you to look into something" I looked around, making sure na walang nakakarinig sa akin.
Students walked and passed by in front of me, I slowly make my way over sa isang bench kung saan walang tao. I sat down, placing my elbows sa knees ko.
"Woah, sounds sketchy and interesting."
"Look, I just need some information about her," I explained, massaging my neck.
My body was all sore when I wake up yesterday morning. I got up late, and when I looked at Phoebe's room, she was gone. She left everything, including the clothes I bought for her. Not even bothering to wake me up or leave a note for me.
"Her?" Ryan asked with a chuckle. "Was it the same girl na nakita ko ka-date mo?"
I leaned back against sa sandalan ng bench, sighing as I did. "Yeah."
I heard a muffled sound on the other side of the phone bago nag response si Ryan. " I see you're actually serious with her. I guess wala na akong chance."
"Can you do it or not?" I asked, a bit of frustration in my tone.
"Relax, cuz." He answered, making a tsk sound. "Iba ka talaga mag selos."
"Ryan," I warned, not having any patience left.
The fact the Phoebe completely changed after that weekend was enough for me to run out of patience and feel so much frustration. Hindi ko alam kung may nangyari pa sa kanya or talagang iniiwasan nya lang ako ulit.
"Cuz, never doubt my skills." He said with a hint of hurt in his voice.
"That's why I called you," I said.
Ryan was Alex's brother. We grew up almost together and had been my closest cousin since I was really young. Although they run a family restaurant, Ryan had always shown an interest sa criminology, saying he wanted to pursue law when he grew up. However, he ended up changing his mind recently and decided to help with the business instead, just like his older brother. Hopefully, he changes his mind again before we graduate high school.
"Been a while since I did that, but I'm still a pro just like before," he murmured, more to himself. "Alright, give me a name."
I sighed, closing my eyes. "Phoebe Hamilton."
**************************************
The rest of the day consists of Phoebe doing her best to avoid me. It shouldn't be new to me since she always avoids me, but... it irritates me, and I hated that it annoyed me.
At lunch, she was nowhere to be found. I looked for her sa canteen and even went back sa classroom at sa gym but nothing. I asked Faith when I saw her walking sa hallway if she knew kung nasaan sya, and she told me she didn't know, but Phoebe texted her na gusto nyang mapag isa.
"Maybe nasa garden sya," Faith said thoughtfully. "She usually goes there if she wanted to be alone."
I was about to turn and head towards there when Faith called my name. I stopped on my tracks and turned my head to look at her.
"It's probably best kung bigyan mo sya ng space." The way she said it makes me think hard.
Does she know something?
