Delilah
"Are you ok?" Louis asked in fear. I slowly nodded at him as I was still out of breath. I glanced over at Kyle and saw him walking back into the house. I looked back at the masked man and anger filled me up again. I pushed Ethan, Grayson and Louis to the side as they were in front of me. I grabbed one arm from each man and forced them to stand up.
"I don't care your legs are broken, you're going inside and tell me who the fuck sent you!" I said as the men groaned in pain. I pushed them inside the house and everyone else was following me.
"Put them in the basement," Kyle said and I nodded at him. Luckily for these guys, we had an elevator to the basement but if it was my call, I'd force them to walk down the stairs with their broken legs. I put them in the basement and went back upstairs. Kyle took care of the rest of the masked men.
"What's taken over you?" Ethan asked me as I sat down on the bar stool in the kitchen. Cynthia acted like nothing happened, because she got through this a couple of times. I shot a glance at Ethan and before I could talk Kyle spoke out.
"Don't mind her, whenever this happens she acts like a narcissistic bitch until it's over. Don't get me wrong, she plays the narcissistic bitch because that's what we need," Kyle said as he walked over to the couch with a glass of wine. I immediately stood up from the bar stool and walked up to him. I grabbed the wine out of his hand and drank it all at once.
"Well, guess what?" I asked in a monotone voice as I looked at Kyle. "That's how we're fucking trained!" I said to him and out the empty wineglass on the table. Kyle was right, once something happens I know it doesn't end with just one attack. My soul switches something and I feel angry, most badly until I know for sure it's all over. I can't let my emotions cloud my judgement in times like these.
"Delilah, keep your ass down!" Quinn said to me. I looked at her as I raised my eyebrows.
"No, she's right," Kyle said and he stood up from the couch. He walked over to a closet and grabbed to sticks out of it. "You, me. Yard," Kyle said as he threw a stick to me. I immediately caught it and walked out of the house through the yard entrance. Everyone would have a show because there was no wall between the house and the yard, just glass or windows. I looked into Kyle's eyes and saw his soul switched something as well. He was just as angry and dangerous as me.
"No, inside. Now!" Quinn yelled at us and Kyle and I immediately rolled our eyes. I threw the stick on the ground and stormed back inside.
"Explanation, please?" Grayson asked and I narrowed my eyes at him. I sat down on the couch and so did everyone else.
"Once a year we're forced to fight for our lives against the bad guys. It's about something stupid we did in high school. The why doesn't matter, because once a year we will either win or lose," Kyle explained as Cynthia gave us something to drink. "You can see, Delilah is the one who doesn't care about anything anymore. She's the one who keeps us from dying," Kyle said and I shot him a fake smile, an obvious one.
"No," Louis said and I immediately looked at him now. I narrowed my eyes again as I raised an eyebrow.
"The reason why Delilah does that, is because deep down she knows she comes from a dangerous family. It's in our nature to become heartless in times like these," Louis said and I rolled my eyes at him.
"Enough about that, I'm starving," I said and as I stood up from the couch Kyle grabbed me by my arm, harshly.
"Medicine, now," He forced me and I pulled my arm back.
"Screw, you," I said to him. He always forces me to take pills whenever I'm like this. They're supposed to calm me down, be normal but it only makes me go crazy. Kyle stood up as he gave me a glass of water and two blue pills.
"Do they help her?" Ethan asked and I saw the concern in his eyes.
"No, but they think it helps," I said to him and Kyle rolled his eyes at me. He grabbed my face with his hands as he looked deeply into my eyes.
"Delilah, you know they help you, you're just afraid that something bad will happen while the pills are still working," Kyle said to me in a soft tone. I just looked at him without doing anything. For a minute he made me feel something but I immediately pulled my face out of his hands.
"No..." I whispered to him as I turned around and walked towards the kitchen.
"I know you're gonna take them either way!" Kyle yelled from the living room.
"Only because you did that awful trick on me!" I yelled back at him. I took the pills and drank the glass of water all at once. I let out a frustrated sigh and hid my face in my hands. It felt like my soul and alter ego were fighting. One was desperate to come back and care about everything, and the other wanted to break everything in the house and load all the guns we had.
"Quinn, go to her..." I heard Kyle say in the background.
"I'll go..." Grayson interrupted and I felt something shove beside me. I looked at him as I tried to hold back my tears.
"Don't mind me, I'm always a sad bitch after the first pills," I said to Grayson and let out a deep sigh.
"Come here..." Grayson whispered as he pulled me closer to him. He wrapped his arms around me as my head rested on his chest. I could hear his breathing and his slow heartbeat. It somehow calmed me down and I closed my eyes.
"You're not a sad bitch, you're just like me..." Grayson whispered into my ear as he played with my hair. I could feel my muscles relax, when someone played with my hair I always fell asleep. I inhaled deeply as I felt I was about to fall asleep. God... why now?
