Trevor's POV
A loud banging noise filled the house we were in, the red lights started to flicker. A few men ran from room to room and my suspicions started to grow. All men ran to the room Delilah was. I immediately stood up and walked with a high tempo to the same room. ''I'm sorry, you can not go in.'' A random guy said. I saw he guarded the room. I groaned loudly as I pushed him aside. This was not the time to stand in my way. I entered the room and saw Miranda working on some devices.
''What is wrong?'' I asked. I saw Delilah laying vulnerable in a chair.
''A hindrance, her body is defending itself,'' Miranda said. I ran my hands through my hair. I ran up to Delilah. I grabbed her hand and squeezed my eyes shut. I knew this was a bad idea. I knew something would go wrong. As I felt a light squeeze in my hand I opened up my eyes. There was a shimmer of peace align on Delilah's face. I felt like she was somehow conscious.
''Do not fight against it, we will be fine.'' I whispered. A tear fell down my cheek. I rubbed her hand with my thumb while I kept looking at her. After what felt like forever the alarm stopped. The red flickering lights turned back to normal.
''Miranda,'' A man said. He caught my attention. ''We need to stop this procedure undoubtedly.'' He walked up to her. Miranda took the tablet he held in his hands. I frowned a bit as I watched them closely. I saw Miranda shook her head. She put the tablet away and focused on something else. I felt a pair of hands grabbing me, taking me away. I looked at Delilah and saw she was surrounded by doctors.
''What is going on?'' I asked anxiously. Delilah was still unconscious. Doctors took a bit of her blood, measured her temperature. I was wary of the whole situation.
''This is indelible,'' Miranda said. She ran a hand through her hair. ''It appears to be that Mrs. Scott is pregnant,'' Miranda said. My eyes widened in shock. This whole time Delilah was in more danger than I thought. The cold we went through... Lack of food and drinks... Her body was forming another human inside of her while it also did everything it could to keep her alive. I looked at Delilah's belly, realizing there was a living, forming human in there. ''Stop the procedure,'' I said. I agreed with the doctor from earlier. This procedure could be dangerous.
''I am afraid I can not,'' Miranda said. I immediately looked at her as my eyes started to tear up. ''She is already halfway through the procedure,'' Miranda said. I looked back at Delilah and somehow I felt like she was already changing. It was stupid, probably an illusion because she still had her gorgeous brown hair, her olive skin. I bet she would still be as kind and perfect as before when she wakes up.
''What are the chances she won't survive?'' I asked. I was still staring at Delilah. I was too afraid to look away. After a few minutes passed, I still did not get a response. It forced me to look away from Delilah and towards Miranda. ''I asked you a question,'' I said. Her eyes turned to me and I saw she was furious about my curiosity.
''Sixty-seven percent,'' Miranda answered in monotony. She clenched her jaw and I felt myself becoming angry. There was a higher risk of losing Delilah then having her back. Before I knew I stormed towards Miranda and pushed her against the wall.
''How dare you to risk her life like that? Like it is nothing?!'' I yelled. I feared the risk of losing Delilah. She would leave so many people behind.
''It is either risking it or taking it,'' Miranda hissed. Two bodyguards pulled me away from her as I frowned.
''What do you mean?'' I asked softly. Both of the options did not make any sense to me. Risking it or taking it...
''If we chose to stop the procedure, we had to kill her. She knew too much,'' Miranda said. She fixed her clothes that got messed up by me pushing her. ''So, see this as me saving her life if she makes it. If not, she was already a lost cause,'' Miranda said and walked out of the room. I stood in the middle of the room, flabbergasted. Once again I looked at Delilah. I was considering what I would do if she did not make it. I pictured my life without Delilah, where I did not meet her. I would have been tortured by my gang leader or I would probably be killed by him for my disloyalty. Delilah would have been safe with Grayson and her friends. She would probably be at a campfire, rethinking her sins. I knew she would also be grateful for the life she had. But now she was laying here, unconscious. Her life was on the line and that was all because of me. I should have never pulled her aside to me in the forest. I should have let her wander around and let her be...
