I gasped for air as I opened up my eyes. What the hell had happened and where was I? I looked around and the first thing that caught my eye was people watching me. My eye fell on the guy I met earlier today. I frowned softly as I saw his eyes were red from crying. I looked to the other faces and recognized the brother. He looked the same as the other guy, only he had different eyebrow shapes and a mole on his cheek. They seemed so familiar to me yet they were unknown to me. I frowned softly as I pushed myself to sit up. I still felt a little light headed and dizzy, the people around me talked but their voices seemed so distant. I closed my eyes for a bit as I tried to focus on my headache. It hurt badly but I wanted it to soften and the only way to do that was accepting the pain.
"Izzy?" I heard someone ask real softly. I opened up my eyes again and saw Grayson kneeling down in front of me. His eyes looked so fragile and I knew he did not want to hurt me in any way. Had he been crying? He looked like a mess.
"Y-yeah?" I responded. I rubbed my eyes and looked back at him. He held his hand in front of me and I slowly took it. He helped me get off the couch and slowly walked me towards the kitchen aisle. I did not know what he wanted to do but my guys told me it was fine. I had nothing to worry about, at least that is how it felt. He sat me down on a bar stool and grabbed a large glass of water for me.
"What happened?" He asked as he sat down beside me and handed me the glass. I ran a hand through my hair as I thought back to the moment I must have passed out.
"I was looking around, a-and-" I stuttered as I felt like I was about to cry. Why would I cry? This was something so small and I never cried. I had seen much worse things and me passing out made me cry? What the hell?
"It is ok." Grayson said as he rubbed my back. I smiled softly at him as he must have seen I was about to cry.
"Everything seemed so familiar to me but that is not possible, I had never been her before," I said as I looked around again. I looked at the cabins in the kitchen, somehow I knew exactly what was in every cabin. To the left the wine glasses, the one beside it had normal glasses, next coffee cups, plates, etc. I immediately shut my eyes again. How was this possible? I looked up again and looked at the marble table in front of me. My fingers traced down the marble paths and the tears formed in my eyes again. There was something unique about this table, something inside my flared up.
"Maybe you have..." Grayson spoke softly and I immediately looked at him. I frowned and blinked my tears away. Grayson looked at me too and I saw he regretted his words instantly. I turned around in the bar stool so I faced the living room. The view satisfied me but it also frightened me. This did not feel like a déjà vu anymore, it was more then that. A déjà vu is the feeling that one has lived in the present situation before. French for; already seen. When it occurs, it seems to spark a memory of a place we have already seen, a person we have already seen or an act we have already done. I learned this by the government, we had to eliminate every possibility that could endanger us on a mission. We learned to ignore the déjà vu's and look passed them.
This was not a memory anymore. This felt bigger, deeper and more novel. There was some type of aura around this place the forced me to look for every flaw I must have seen before. I knew everything about this place but the how was something I could not figure out. Is that why I passed out earlier? Because it was too much for my brain to process? I mean, it was not something small that seemed familiar yet so unknown. It was this whole place, this mansion and the people inside of it. I knew every detail without questioning it.
"What did you say this mansion was named after?" I asked softly as I still looked around. I was looking at the structured walls, the lined ceiling. It was all so beautiful.
"I did not," Grayson said and I immediately looked at him again. I could have sworn he told me the name of this mansion. I frowned as I started to question myself again. What the hell was going on here? It was slowly starting to freak me out as I could not put the puzzle pieces together. I used to figure out everything, even the hardest riddles, the hardest missions. This was knew, this was something my brain had made up. "Do you know the name?" Grayson asked me and I slowly nodded.
"I think," I whispered softly as I looked away for a second. I bit my lip as I felt so stupid. "I am so sorry, I do not know what you must think of me now." I said as I let my face drop. I immediately felt Grayson's hand on my shoulder and I looked up again.
"I think of you as someone who is strong, i think you know what is going on here but the only person who can figure that out, is you," He said and I softly smiled at him. His words made me feel better a bit but not fully. "Now, let's start with the name of this mansion, you said you knew it. Have you read it somewhere and what is it?" Grayson asked politely and I knew he tried to help me out instead of forcing me.
"No, I have not read it somewhere. It just popped up in my head like a lost memory," I whispered as I looked around again.
"This is the Delilah's Scott mansion." I whispered softly.
