Delilah

We just arrived at my apartment in New York. It was a tough trip and I knew we all were tired. I let out a relieved sigh as I let my bag fall of my arm and let myself fall on the couch. I closed my eyes and fully surrendered myself to my sleepiness. I was so tired that I didn't even noticed it was already dinner time.

"Shit." I mumbled to myself as I immediately grabbed my phone. I needed to order some food because I don't have any groceries in my apartment. I needed to look carefully, because Ethan will kill me if there's dairy in the food.

"I've already ordered some food." Ethan said as he sat down besides me on the couch.

"Oh thank God..." I whispered as I put my phone on the table. I hid my face in my hands as it felt strange to be back home. Well... is it home?

"So, this is where you hid all along." Grayson said as he looked around my apartment. I frowned at him as I stood up and grabbed some drinks for the three of us.

"Where I hid? This is where I tried to built up my life?" I shot it him. I focused on pouring the drinks but the doorbell shocked me so much that I spilled it all over my kitchen counter. "Must be the food." I said as I walked over to the door. I opened up my door but to my surprise it was the delivery man.

"Delilah Scott?" The man as and I slowly nodded at him as I frowned. "This is for you." The man said as he handed me over a package and a bouquet of white roses. My favourite...

"Thank you?" I told the guy before he walked away. I closed the door with my foot as I put the package on the table and searched for a card in the bouquet.

"Secret admirer?" Ethan asked as he was looking at the bouquet. I slowly shook my head as I couldn't find any card. For now I laid the flowers on my table as I focused on the package. I sat down on the couch as I opened up the package. This time there wasn't just a card, but a whole letter. "Read it out loud!" Ethan almost yelled at me and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Dear Delilah, or should I say my Lilah?

I know you must be mad at me and Quinn, but I also hope you understand our reasons for what we did to you. I remember the day I met you, it was on your prom night and you had no one to go with. I offered myself up for you, because no girl should ever experience of going to a prom on her own. The day you graduated I didn't hesitate a moment of taking you in for my company. I knew you would do a great job and from this day on I still do not regret it.

Remember when we used to do everything together? There was even a moment I wanted to buy a house for the three of us, but I figured it would be too much. If you ever change your mind, that house is the place I'm staying for now.

I hope you forgive me, Delilah. Because I feel awful for lying to you.

Your loveliest friend and boss,

Kyle Taylor."

I spoke out loud. I didn't even knew I was crying until a tear fell on the sheet of paper. I looked into the package and there was a photo case, with the photo of my prom night. I wiped my tears away as mr. Taylor indeed offered himself to go with me. It was the night of my life...

"Delilah? Are you having second thoughts?" Ethan asked as he rubbed my back. I was staring at the photo as I slowly shook my head.

"I'm sure we will figure something out..." I whispered to him as I put the photo and the letter on my table. I let out a deep sigh as I tried to hold myself together. "Wait... how did he even know I got back to my apartment?" I whispered to myself as I frowned again. I walked over to my window and looked outside. "I knew it!" I said out loud as I immediately stormed out of my apartment. I let Grayson and Ethan be, because my feelings took control over me.

I ran outside, to the familiar white Tesla, that only one person owns that I know. "Kyle!" I screamed from a distance. It felt odd to call mr. Taylor by his first name after such a long time, but it also felt good.

"Delilah..." He whispered as I got closer to him. He immediately put his phone away and laid his hands on my cheeks. "I'm so sorry..." He whispered as he looked deeply in my eyes.

"Kyle... I made up my mind... I'm moving in with the twins..." I whispered to him as the tears formed in my eyes again.

"You can't, Delilah... I've done some research and you truly can't..." Kyle said as his face turned in concern. I frowned at him as I grabbed his hands and slowly took them away from my cheeks.

"What do you mean... I can't?" I slowly whispered to him as it didn't make any sense to me. Why can't I move in with them because he has done research?

"Gray... Grayson Dolan is a member of a gang... he's very dangerous, Delilah..." Kyle said and I immediately froze to the ground. I couldn't move as these words repeated in my head constantly. Kyle was talking but it seemed like he was at a distance. I slowly turned my head towards the window of my apartment, and I saw Ethan and Grayson looking at me in confusion.

"I can't hide from him, Kyle. If he wants to keep it a secret from me, that's fine but I'm not going to hide away." I said as I slowly looked back to Kyle. He let out a deep sigh as he ran a hand through his blond hair.

"Fine, Delilah but under one condition." Kyle said as he opened the door of his car. "I need to give you something but it can't be seen in public, especially when Grayson is watching." Kyle said and I immediately got into the car, even if it all seemed wrong to me. Kyle sat down besides me as he grabbed something from under the seat. Before I knew Kyle shove a gun in my hands and my eyes widened immediately.

"What the hell, Kyle!" I said immediately. I looked at it carefully and saw my initials were on the gun.

"You need to be able to protect yourself! Especially when it comes to you moving in with a gang member!" Kyle said as he grabbed my empty hand. "Promise me, that if you're in danger you call me and use it? Promise me, Delilah." Kyle said and I saw the concern in his eyes. I immediately nodded without a hesitation. "I'll be coming over once in a while, I need to see you're ok." Kyle said. I didn't agree with this but I knew I couldn't talk it out of his head.

"I—..." My voice was shaky as I stared at the gun in my hand. "I will protect myself, Kyle. You won't lose me." I said as I hid the gun in between my pants and my back. Kyle gave me a small smile and I knew he trusted me still.

"You're one of the most important people I have." He said as he placed a hand on my cheek.

"I've got to go now... but I will come see you tomorrow before I go back to Los Angeles." I said to Kyle as I opened the door of the car again. I slowly got out of it and Kyle followed me.

"I love you, Delilah... I hope you know that..." Kyle mumbled in my ear as he hugged my very tightly and planted a kiss on my head.

"I know, Kyle... I love you too..." I said as I slowly let go of him and walked back to my apartment.
