Hardin
It's now morning and I haven't slept since my night out at Bill's House. The fact that I lied my ass off in front of her is driving me crazy. I can't stop thinking about her. About the way she looked at me when I spoke those dirty words. I had to find a way to make her understand or at least come clean. Part of me thought to call Kate and inform her to keep her mouth shut since they knew each other, but if she found out, it would be the end of this. My head was spinning giving me a headache. I had to find her.
I drove up to her house, and waited for her to wake up so I could grab a chance to talk to her before it's too late. Admitting to my self, that she was special was hard enough. I arrived early and parked right across her house, in the corner of the street. I wanted to make sure she wouldn't leave first. The anticipation was raising in my head thinking of all the possible outcomes this conversation could have. If she is as pure as she looks, she will appreciate the fact that I at least came clean. As I was switching the radio stations, I saw her front door opening and her coming down the stairs. I started the engine and turned around heading towards her, rolling down my window.
"Tessa.."
"What... uhmm... what do you want here?" She asked me with confusion.
"Tessa I need to talk to you"
"Don't you think you said enough?"
"Please don't do this. Just hear me out"
"You should leave or else I'm going to be in trouble" she said slowly, looking behind her back towards her house.
"What do you mean?" I asked worried.
"Just leave Hardin"
"Tessa, please I just need a minute. I'll also drive us to class."
For a moment she stopped and gave it a quick thought. She leaned towards the open window and said
"Promise to leave me alone after this?"
"If you still want me, yes. I'll leave you alone". Even though her words were harsh for my little dark soul, I had to be gentle and give her some space. She then opened the door and we drove away. To be honest I wasn't gonna drive us to college, it was very dangerous with Kate around. I wanted her to know the truth from me and not from that fucking chick.
"Are you going to tell me what you want?" she asked.
"Just give me a few minutes"
She nodded and sat silently waiting for me to talk. I didnt know how to start the conversation, but my biggest problem now was to tell her we weren't going to college.
"First of all, don't freak out"
"What? what do you mean? what happened Hardin?"
"Relax baby girl, you are just gonna miss a day from college" I said chuckling trying to distract her.
"Are you freaking serious?" she said throwing her hands in the air. "You can't do this Hardin, you can't make me follow you around"
"Well too late, we are already far"
I could feel her cursing me under her breath thinking what kind of an asshole I must be for playing with her like that. But this time it was serious.
"I hope what you just did was worth it"
"I hope so too" I said and continued driving.
---
"What is this place Hardin?"
"Just a quiet playground. Don't worry, I won't kill you" I said, leading her towards a bench at the end of the park. We both sat down, and I noticed she scooted further from me, not even looking towards me.
