Chapter 43 - She stayed

Listening to what Hardin shared in a nutshell, I can't even begin to process the details. It's too much and so messed up, I don't know what I would even do in his place.

"Babe... seriously you are adopted?"

"Yeah... and I remember every bit of it" he said and picked up the last bacon slice off his plate.

"So... let me get this straight..." I said rubbing my temples.

"Don't stress, your mind babe. Yes, I am adopted. One day after a few years, my mom found me... by accident... I think... and I found out she owed money and I wanted to help and..."

"Babe... its okay. Take your time" I said and kissed his forehead. I could see how difficult it was for him to talk about this.

"They keep her somewhere, until I pay the whole debt"

"How much is it?"

"Another 5k...then its over! I swear!"

I didn't know what to say, If only I knew what he was going through. Everything that happened, even between him and Jack, it all makes sense now.

"I was scared babe... I thought they could hurt you..." he said looking away.

"How though? I mean... you were pretty secretive with us"

"I don't know how they found out... but they threatened me back then, that's why I freaked out"

"That's why they kidnapped me? For revenge?"

"Yeah... it's all a huge fucked up mess" he said and stood up taking my hand into his and walking us back into the room. It was now afternoon and I didn't even notice how the sun slowly went down. We were deeply into this whole conversation, memories from everything that went down started popping in my head and every puzzle piece started to find its place.

"Babe... there is one more thing, but It's a little more complicated" he said and kneeled in front of me.

"H-hardin, what are you doing?"

"Hear me out Tess. Please. Don't interrupt me, its important" he said looking through my eyes. I nodded giving him the space to talk. I already appreciated the way he had just opened up and I was anxious of what I would hear next.

"Two days ago, I had to finish another mission. It had to do with that gun you saw"

"Yeah... that gun" I sighed not looking at his eyes.

"Anyway... I saw some people. Some... familiar people. What I want from you is to trust me and let me uncover them"

"But... why would I not let you?"

"Babe... uhm... listen. I can't share the details but I need you to trust me. No questions asked okay?"

I took a minute to think but then, I had no reason not to trust him. He has been keeping me safe since day one, desperately trying to get rid of something he didn't even ask for. Of course I was going to trust him. Blindfolded!

" I will babe" I said and cupped his face bringing his lips on mine. Nothing mattered from now on, it was just me and him. No more lies, no more secrets.

After what seemed like a lifetime, I picked up my phone to call Josh. We were supposed to check out an apartment tomorrow morning and I had to make sure we weren't going to miss it.

"Hey baby... I just got back home" Josh loudly said. "How are you feeling?"

"So glad you are back Josh. I'm doing better, thanks to Hardin"

"Aww, that little shit is taking care of you? How sweet!" he exclaims.

"Well well you sound extremely excited"

"Maybe because I met someone..."

"Oh boy... where?"

"We stopped at your diner earlier to get some lunch and this guy Evans was all over the place"

"You met Evans? I thought he was gone"

"Well he will be gone... long gone inside me any time now"

"JOSH! Jesus christ" I said giggling.

"I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. I cant wait to check out the house"

"Me too... finally, a space of our own"

"Dont forget 11 am sharp outside Subway. I'll be driving my dad's car"

"Sure thing babe, see you tomorrow" I said and hung up.

"Babe?... See you tomorrow?" I heard Hardin's voice mocking me, as he sat up on bed. "You are cheating on me already? I must say I'm deeply hurt" he said placing his hand on his heart in a dramatic way.

"It's just Josh babe, nothing for you to worry about"

"I know love, I was just messing with you" and with that he dragged me down, and let me straddle him. God I missed him so much. Leaning down to plant kisses everywhere, Hardin's grip got tighter on my waist holding me down.

"Babe... you are getting me hard already"

"Well, Mr Scott don't get too comfortable" I teased, grinding on him. I could feel his length getting hard underneath me and my folds getting wet.

"Damn Tessa... I'm a minute away from burying my self inside you..."

"I have to get to the Market mister, we need supplies. Your fridge is basicly empty" I said changing the subject.

"I can drive you, maybe we could stop for some donuts on the way back?"

"OMG yes!" Hardin chuckled and grabbed my ass, kissing my neck deeply creating a hickey.

"Okay okay, let's go!" I shouted and got up leaving him with a boner as I made my way in the bathroom.

Tessa has been in a great mood for some weird reason. After everything I said, I thought she would freak out and stay the hell away from me. If only I could tell her about her dad and what is it that he does. The man is a murderer not just a drug dealer. The "Underground" has been one of the worst dealing and trafficking groups existing on this planet right now.

Bill was fast enough to connect my phone as a reciever for the bug he planted and I had already receive some conversations but I wasn't planning on opening the files now that Tessa was around. I couldn't risk it.

"Tess... are you done? Im starving!" I shouted banging on the bathroom door.

"Be out in a minute" she replied and made my way downstairs to grab my shoes and coat. A minute later she appeared running down the stairs and right into my arms.

"Please be like this always" I said looking straight in her eyes, my hands never leaving her body.

"Like what?"

"With a smile" I said and kissed her deeply. "And also...no matter how tired we are" I said and leaned to her ear "I'm fucking you tonight".

Tessa gasped on my filthy words, as she always did. That little innocent mind of hers drove me crazy. I opened the door and we headed to the car.

"How about I drop you off at the market and I'll go put some gas"

"Sure, just don't be late. It's freeing outside"

"I won't babe" I said and continued driving towards the market.

Minutes later, after letting her out, I continued straight only to be stopped by a terrible traffic jam. There was probably an accident and god damn it was gonna eat up all my time.
