Bad influences || a DabiDeku story

20- "I'm fine"

Izuku POV

"N-no. Please don't leave me"

"Stupid Deku. Why would I stay with you after finding out that you're quirkless?"

"W-w-we can still play heroes! I can pretend to be your sidekick again and we can fight crime together and-"

"Didn't you hear me!?!?! I said no! I don't want to play these silly games with a freak like you anymore"

"B-b-but they don't have to just be games. We can train and become r-real heroes together! F-for real! You can be number one a-and I can be number two and-"

"No! We will never become real heroes together. I will become the number one hero while you will still just be a quirkless, useless, nobody. Don't you get it? You can't be a hero anymore Deku! You can never be a hero! Now your nickname really makes sense, you sure are a Deku. And if I haven't already made it clear enough, I would never hang out with a Deku. So scram!!!"

"Deku Deku" All of the boys I thought were my friends have started to circle around me and call me the name given to me by my best friend, patronizing me.

Kacchan began to turn from me and was just beginning to walk away when I grabbed onto his arm.

"Deku Deku" Oh god, the whole class has joined in on the teasing by now. The teachers aren't doing anything, they're just acting as if they don't realize what's going on.

"Let go of me Deku!"

"Deku Deku, you're just a Deku" That mocking tone used by everyone is eating away at me!

"Kacchan! Don't leave me! I need you!"

"I said let go!"

".....please...."

"Deku Deku"

"N-no. S-s-s-stop."

"Deku Deku"

"Stop!"

"Deku Deku....De...ku..... De...ku.... ku.... ku.... Iz.....ku....Izu....ku....IZUKU!"

My eyes darted open. I felt myself sweating bullets and then realized I was holding on to something. I looked to my right and saw that I had a firm grip on Dabi's arm. I quickly let go and sat up in my bed. Wait.....my bed? When did I get into my bed? If I remember right I fell asleep on the chair with....w-with...Da-Dabi....

I felt heat rising to my cheeks at the thought. Even more heat then my body was already struggling to take in from the shock of that nightmare.

"Izuku, you okay?" Dabi asked, placing a hand on my cheek.

"I came in to see if you were ready to eat breakfast with me, but you suddenly grabbed on to me. It seemed like you were having a nightmare or something"

"I'm so sorry! I was having a nightmare. But you don't have to worry about me! I'm fine! I swear! I promise!"

"You know you can tell me anything that's bothering you Izuku, right? In fact, I want you to come to me with anything that's bothering you. I want to be there for you."

I melted into the hand Dabi still had on my cheek, and put my hand over his.

"I know Dabi. I'm fine, seriously. You don't have to worry about me." I gave him a reassuring smile.

"Okay, you better be fine." He places a light kiss on my nose. God, I love it when he does that. It makes me feel so safe and protected and loved and just.....amazing.

"So.....wanna join me for breakfast?"

"You made breakfast? That doesn't really seem like you."

"Well.....I did complete the challenging task of ordering food from Silver Diner on DoorDash. I also waited for the food to arrive and payed for it. So, you're welcome"

"Thank you Dabi" I gave him a smile much warmer and genuine than the one from before.

"I'll go set the table and you can take a bit of time to wake up."

"Okay"

After he left the room I got out of bed and started stretching. Today will be a good day, I just know it.

Dabi POV

He is not fine. My bunny is not fine. It's pretty easy to tell, especially for me. Is he just hoping that I didn't hear what he said in his sleep? Well surprise, I did hear. I heard it perfectly. I believe his exact words were "Kacchan! Don't leave me! I need you!"

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I think Izuku is cheating on me or anything like that. I know my bunny would never do that. It's not Izuku that's hurting me, it's him that's hurting Izuku. My Izuku. My bunny. And I will protect my bunny at all costs. That Bakugo Katsuki is gonna get what's coming for him. And he won't even see it coming.
