ELISE'S POV
Lia, Flare, Jeanne, Fenrir and Khal are standing on the doorway, with a cake infront of them. Napatingin ako do'n at nabasa kong, 'Happy 17th Elise!' I gasped. "Anong date ngayon?" I checked my phone's calendar and it was already September first.
"Oh my gosh, how dare you forget your own birthday." hinila ni Flare ang kamay ko, ipinatong do'n ang faded yellow frosting cake, I recognized as Brazo de Mercedes, caramel flavoured. My favourite.
"We always noticed that you prefer that flavor whenever we go for desserts, so we figured that's your favorite." Zion winked.
"Go ahead!! Wish! And then blow," niyuyogyog nila yung braso ko. Hindi ko alam kung paano ang magiging reaksyon ko sa kanila. I never experienced having a birthday surprise, for me it was just any other day that I never really paid attention to it's importance.
Bago pa may tumulong luha sa mga mata ko ay pumikit na ako gaya ng gusto nila at saka hinipan ang kandila sa cake. "So, what's your wish?" tanong ni Lia, hindi ko alam ang isasagot ko, because I didn't wished. I don't know what to wish for.
I opened my mouth, and closed it again, nung nagsalita si Flare, phew. "Ano ka ba Lia, ofcourse she can't tell us, it should be a secret!" hinila nila ako palabas nang kwarto papunta ng cafeteria.
"So uhm, paano niyo,nalamang birthday ko?" I asked.
"Student council at your service," umakbay si Zion at nag salute.
We arrived at the dining hall to have breakfast and my cheeks were pinkish because of the attention they're giving me, I wasn't used to this. I couldn't help but awkwardly sit there.
Dumeretso kami sa kwarto ni Zion at Fenrir, who offered to watch movie before preparing for the ball. Pagkabukas nila ng pinto, I saw wrapped boxes lying on the floor.
"Your presents!" I pick the nearest one, "That's mine!" sabi ni Flare, when I opened it, it's a book. "it's about a fallen angel, I thought you might want to read something new," she smiled and I smiled back and muttered thanks.
I opened Jeanne's, it's a silver stiletto, "something you can actually use for tonight's event," she winked. "Thank you," ani ko.
Next would be Fenrir and Zion's. "Jacket, thanks," cool, it's leather. But I think medyo malaki sa katawan ko. Lia's present is an artwork white t-shirt na medyo maluwag din.
"We're not allowed to go outside, so we just asked Sir George, to buy presents for you, it's a rush kaya kung ano na yung unang pumasok sa isip namin, 'yon na yung pinabili namin. So uh yeah, it's not much. And sorry if we kinda got your size wrong," sabi ni Lia.
Umiling ako at hindi ko mapigilang maiyak. Everyone panicked when I started sobbing suddenly. "I'm sorry, I'm just.. I don't deserve you all, guys."
"Aww, we love you Elise, group hug!!!" they enveloped me into a big hug and I've never felt this kind of genuine feelings from other people. I've always felt indifference, not until I came here.
Kinuha ko naman yung regalo ni Khal, I don't know about Flare's. pagkabukas ko, I saw a small bottle, and I think it's a black ink.
Then next to it is a long black feather. Saka ko narealize na it's a quill. "Thanks Khal, might as well use it for my journal,"
Two boxes left. I reached the smaller one, and it came from Mrs. Perez?
"Mrs. Perez? " tanong ko sa kanilang lahat. Curious naman ako kung bakit niya ako padadalahan ng regalo. "She always do that." sabi ni Fenrir habang naglalagay ng CD sa player. "Ah, I see,"
