-Mari-
The flight back home was brutal. Grey clouds and cold crisp air. Lucy slept on my shoulder. Her snore filled my ears and I tried to sleep it off. Tomorrow's Saturday and we're supposed to be landing by 12:10a.m. It's 8p.m now. Our flight hasn't even left yet. We just boarded and Lucille Claire is already passed out. We have a new record. The flight attendant told us to buckle, I did mine and then Lucy's. She flinched but didn't awaken. She looked comfortable. Liam called me earlier excited to here that I was coming back already. He told
me he hasn't been doing so well without me. I believed him, he sounded to happy when he realized I was coming home. I was happy to be going home, but at the same time. I wanted to stay with Mitchie. She really grew on me. I didn't realize I fell asleep until I felt Lucy shaking me and dragging me out of my seat off the plane. We piled into the taxi and went home. I pulled my bags from the trunk and threw them inside and crawled upstairs. I laid in my bed and spread my arms across almost hugging it. I instantly passed out not caring about the phone ringing.
-Mari's dream-
I ran through the field picking up random flowers. I threw some in the air and made a flower crown with the left over. The flowers landed in the leaves and I threw myself into a pile of leaves. I laid there comfortably and looked at the sky. It was beautiful and blue. Shapeless white clouds filled the sky perfectly. I filled my hands with leaves and threw them up, they flew in every direction. Gone with the wind. It felt so good to be alone. No matter how much Liam grows on me, I will always love being alone more. I listened to the birds sing, and the other animals pass by. I felt almost happy, completely content. I wanted to stay like this forever.
-Dream ends-
That'll never happen though, I thought as I woke up and noticed the time. 10:30a.m. I groaned and rolled back over. I had no motivation to leave my room, much less my bed. I laid there and stared at my wall like there was something actually there. All there was, was a picture of me, dad, and Brooklyn. I was on top of Brooklyn and dad was holding down the saddle. We were both smiling, I remember that day perfectly. It was one of my happiest. When I first learned how to actually ride Brooklyn. I looked at the picture as the memory played through my head. I knew I would never be that happy again. Then I decided I have to get up. I took the pills for my depression on my bed side and drank some water to help me swallow. I put my glasses on, to lazy to put on my contacts. I noticed Lucy was already gone. I shrugged and dragged myself down the stairs and into the kitchen. Nobody was home, not even mom. I was all alone. Me, Myself, and the wonderful fridge. I looked at my phone for a split second recognized Liam's contact and his many notifications. I ignored them all and made some coffee. I felt very upset. Not the same as before. I just wanted to be alone and which I was. I took advantage of that and once I made my coffee I took it outside and sat on the swing with that and my book. Looking for Alaska. I skimmed through the book sipping my coffee every few minutes. I spaced out focusing on nothing but the book and peace. Until the peace subsided when I heard the backdoor open and close. I felt someone sit next to me and I didn't dare move my eyes off the book. I could feel them breathe and I felt almost uncomfortable. I lifted my head from the book for a slight second and noticed Liam sitting there with his own mug, sipping some coffee of his own. I smiled at him and he nodded smiling back. He stayed silent and I did to. He knew I wasn't in a very talkative mood. He just threaded his fingers through mine and we sat there. I stared off into the distance and leaned my head into his chest. I could feel my messy hair lay across his chest. He kissed the top of my head and sighed. He looked off into the distance with me. Silence remained and so did we. I knew no one else would be home for hours, Liam being here was comforting though. I guess I didn't want to be alone, just at peace. Which I was and he was too.
