Stress. That's all you feel right now. You're so stressed and so sleepy but your boss stuck you with a ton of extra work for you to do. It's late, in fact it's almost two in the morning, and you promised Jade three hours ago that you'd be up to bed soon.

She got confused when she woke up to a cold and empty bed. She knew you must still be downstairs trying to get more work done. She's really worried about you. You've been working way too hard lately and she didn't understand why you wouldn't just take some time off to rest, because you desperately need it.

She kicked the blankets off and walked downstairs, sighing heavily when she saw you in the exact same spot you were in when she went up to bed three hours ago. She walked up behind you and put her hands on your shoulders. She felt the knots and the tension in your back and your shoulders right away.

"Baby, why don't you put that away and come up to bed?" You shook your head. "No. I can't. I have to finish this." There were piles of papers on the table and some papers were balled up while others were torn apart. She pressed her lips to your neck and sighed against your skin. "You're so stressed out. C'mon, just take a break. You need to sleep."

"I can't." You started to cry, everything starting to get too overwhelming and all of your emotions were starting to pour out. "Why not?" You bit your lip and tried to hold back your tears as Jade wrapped her arms around you. "I don't wanna let anyone down. Everyone's counting on me to get this done."

Jade shook her head and kissed your cheek. "Y/n look at yourself. You're stressed, you're anxious, you're so exhausted, so drained. They can't count on you to do everything and especially not all in one night. You've gotta rest before you completely burn yourself out. Let's just get you to bed and we can talk more in the morning. You don't get enough sleep baby, not nearly enough, and I need you to rest. Okay?"

You've always had a major fear of letting others down, so you felt like you not getting everything done all at once was disappointing to everyone else, but you also know that Jade is right. You need sleep and no matter what happens, you deserve to sleep.

So you took one last look at all the pages that were scattered across the table before standing up and letting Jade guide you up to bed, considering you were so exhausted that you could barely walk. Once your head hit the pillow the sleep you've been lacking lately all hit you at once. Jade tucked you in and planted a few kisses to your head. "I love you so much, no matter what happens. I know you're stressed and I know you don't wanna let anyone down, but you have to take care of yourself. If your boss doesn't understand that all this extra work is draining you so severely, then you need to walk away. You know i'll always be here to take care of you."

You nodded and let Jade wipe away the tears you didn't even know you were shedding. "Promise?" She smiled and pressed a soft kiss to your lips. "I promise. Everything'll be alright, sweet girl. Now go to sleep, we'll talk more in the morning." You closed your eyes and laced your fingers with hers. "Goodnight baby. Sweet dreams."
