The words have always been on the tip of her tongue. She's always wanted to say them to you but you were already in a relationship.

Jade hated your girlfriend. Not just because you were dating her and not Jade, but because she didn't seem right for you. But she didn't have the heart to tell you that because she's lucky to have you in her life and she didn't want to lose you.

But you called her while she was at the studio today, saying that your girlfriend had cheated on you and Jade dropped everything and rushed over to you. She had a key to your apartment. You've always trusted her more than you did anyone else, so it felt right for her to be the one that had the extra key to your place.

She ran inside your apartment and down the hallway to your room. She could hear you crying and it broke her heart. "y/n? Are you okay?" You lifted your head up and sobbed, holding your arms out for Jade to come running into. "It hurts, Jade." She didn't know what to say or do, so she just nodded her head and held you as close as she could.

"What did I do? Was I not good enough? Jade put her hands on your cheeks and tilted your chin up so you would look at her. "You are good enough y/n. You've always been good enough. She's horrible to cheat on you and she's so crazy to let go of someone so amazing." You shook your head as tears streamed down your cheeks. "I feel like no one's ever gonna love me that way again."

Jade took a deep breath before saying the words she's held back for so long now. "I do." You looked at her with tears in your eyes. "What?" Jade reached for your hand and held it in hers for the first time ever, and fuck, it felt good. "I do y/n. I love you like that. Shit no, I love you more than that. I can love you better than she ever did. I know this is probably the worst timing but I can't keep it inside anymore. I love you y/n. Not as a friend, as so much more. I know you're probably not ready right now but when you are, please just let me know. I'll be here. I'll wait for you."

Your heart was racing. You couldn't believe it. "You're serious?" It wasn't the response Jade was hoping for and now she was nervous for a whole new reason. Has she just fucked everything up?

"Y-Yeah. I'm sorry. I get it, it's too soon and I should've waited-" She was suddenly interrupted by your lips on hers, her heart started to pound in her chest when she moved her hands to your cheeks to deepen the kiss. "I feel the exact same way. I've loved you for the longest time."

Her heart soared at your words. Love. She smiled at you and kissed you again before pulling back to tell you something. "I love you too y/n."

Maybe your ex-girlfriend cheating on you was a blessing in disguise.
