you can't sleep

It's been over three hours since Jade fell asleep and you've been wide awake since. You feel like as more time passes you feel more and more awake.

You looked over at Jade and watched her breathe for a few moments before growing frustrated and kicking off the blankets. You sat up in bed and ran your hands over your face. You felt Jade wrap her arms around your stomach from behind you and then rest her chin on your shoulder. "Why aren't you sleeping? It's almost four in the morning."

You felt a little anxious when she said that because the last time you checked the clock it was almost 3am, but now it's nearly four and you're still not tired at all. "I can't sleep." You whispered softly and jade moved her head from your shoulder. "You haven't slept at all yet, lovely?" You shook your head and sighed heavily.

"Lay back down." Jade said and you wanted to argue with her about that but you couldn't, seeing as she was already gently pushing you down on your back. "Just lay down and I'll rub your back till you fall asleep." You giggled as she nuzzled her face into your neck and started to rub your back. "I've got you. Close your eyes." She snuggled as close as she could to you and planted a kiss to your cheek. "Can you sing to me?"

Jade smiled and kissed your neck before she started to softly sing secret love song into your ear. You closed your eyes and finally started to feel a little sleepy.

She kept rubbing your back and singing in your ear and it helped you drift off to sleep. "Goodnight, my love." Jade whispered and pressed one last kiss to your neck, falling asleep just a few minutes after you did.
