she forgets your birthday

You woke up with a smile on your face. It's finally your birthday and it's the first one you're spending with Jade, making you even more excited about the day ahead.

You noticed that Jade wasn't in bed next to you but you didn't think much of it. You just got out of bed and walked downstairs, happy to see her standing in the kitchen making breakfast.

You walked up behind her and wrapped your arms around her stomach. "Good morning, sunshine!" She pecked your cheek and put a plate of food down on the counter in front of you. "I'm sorry to do this but I have to go to the studio. I have some vocals I have to record today."

Your heart sank at her words. "Oh. I thought we would spend the day here, together..."

"Oh? Did we have plans today?" She asked, eyebrows furrowed with confusion.

You felt like you could cry. Had she really forgotten your birthday?

"No. Nothing special, anyway." She nodded and grabbed her things before pressing a kiss to your head. "I'm sorry, but I'll spend tomorrow with you alright? Love you. Have a good day." She smiled and pinched your cheek before walking out of the house and closing the door behind her.

A tear slid down your cheek when you realized that you'd be spending your birthday alone. You hadn't wanted anything but Jade there with you. You had talked about what you'd end up doing just the other day, but now that was all ruined.

And so was your appetite and your mood.

You threw your breakfast away and went back up to bed. Burying your head in the pillows, you began to cry. You ignored the sound of your phone chiming with birthday wishes from your friends and family.

You've only been awake for a few minutes, but already your birthday was ruined.
