Jade was getting frustrated.

It's been two hours that she's been lying in bed and she still can't seem to fall asleep. It's after two am and she's desperate for anything to calm down her anxious brain so she can sleep for a few hours.

She sat up and debated going down the hall to your room. She tried to brush the thought away, telling herself you were most likely sound asleep and she shouldn't disturb you.

But when ten more minutes went by and Jade was on;y becoming more annoyed and anxious, she figured it was worth a shot.

So she got out of bed and went down the hallway to your room. She opened your door as quietly as possible and when she saw that you were sleeping she thought about going back down the hall and to her own bed. Why should you both be miserable and unable to sleep?

But then she heard your voice and she froze.

"Jade? Is everything okay?" You asked groggily as you pushed up from your side to look at your best friend who you could tell felt miserable. Without a word, you pushed the blankets up from the other side of the bed and patted it.

She gladly accepted the offer and laid beside you. She couldn't deny the way her heart skipped a few beats as she watched you try to fall back asleep. With your eyes closed and eyelashes flutter against your cheeks. You looked so cute.

"Staring at me?" You teased and opened one of your eyes. You smiled when you saw how flustered she looked. Even in the dark room, you could tell she was blushing a little. You've known her for so long you can just tell when she's feeling flustered.

"Thanks for letting me sleep here with you." You just nodded and smiled. "Uh-huh. Don't mention it. Just remember this. If I can't sleep I'm coming straight to your room and climbing into bed with you."

She bit her lip and her eyes landed on the way your chest rose and fell a little more steadily as you drifted off to sleep. "I can't say I'd hate that." She said, thinking you were already sleeping.

But you weren't and she could tell by the little pull of your lips as you smiled a tiny and sleepy smile. "Me neither."

Jade laid her head on the pillow, biting her lip while grinning widely. She slowly fell asleep. But when she was close to it, she felt you curl up to her side and intertwine your fingers as you put your head on her shoulder. She thought it was just something you were doing in your sleep...

But it wasn't. It definitely wasn't. You just wanted to use that as an excuse to be closer to her.
