Setting her bag down and taking a seat in one of the chairs, she patiently waited for the girls to arrive but began to look through what songs they'd be recording today.

She could hear them laughing together as they came down the hallway and approached the room. But they stopped laughing when they opened the door to see Jade there. "Jade? What are you doing here?" Leigh-Anne asked as she sat down in the seat next to her.

"I'm here to record, obviously."

"You weren't supposed to come in until tomorrow so you could be with y/n on her birthday today," Perrie said as she took a swig of water, wetting her throat for the hours of vocals she'd be doing.

Jade's head shot up, the pen falling from her hand and onto the floor when she heard Perrie. "What are you talking about?" Jesy gasped as the girls exchanged looks. "Don't tell me... you forgot your own girlfriend's birthday?!"

Jade pulled her phone out of her pocket and looked at the date. Her eyes went wide, her hands tangling themselves in her hair as she let out a few curse words under her breath. "I can't believe I forgot. We've just been so busy lately with everything going on and it just slipped my mind. Shit. I need to go!"

She bolted out of the studio and out to her car before racing off to a few different places and then heading home to you.

She found the entire downstairs area empty and when she went upstairs she heard you sniffling. She had felt guilty before, but now she was feeling even worse. She went back downstairs and started preparing everything. She wanted to surprise you.

She hung a few decorations on the wall and the ceiling. She had gone to your favorite restaurant and grabbed your favorite food and dessert. She bought some candles and decorated the dessert before going back up to the bedroom.

She pushed the door open. you stopped sniffling and went quiet. the mattress dipped down beside you and Jade attempted to put her arm around you but you pushed her away.

When you looked at her she was heartbroken. The sight of your red eyes filled with tears that just kept falling was the most gut-wrenching thing she'd ever seen.

"Y/n I'm so sorry."

"You forgot my birthday..."

You lowered your head, too disappointed to look at her.

"I know, baby, I know. I messed up and I feel awful about it. But I wanna make it better, please let me make it up to you."

You bit your lip and saw her hold her hand out for you to take. "Just trust me."

You hesitantly took her hand. She pulled you up from the bed before covering your eyes and guiding you downstairs. "Jade-"

"Shh, trust me, y/n." You sighed heavily but obliged. When you reached the kitchen and smelled the scent of your favorite food you knew what she had done.

She uncovered your eyes and let you take in the sight around you. "See! I went to your favorite place and got your favorite food and dessert. And I decorated the best I could. And I didn't have enough time to get you a gift because I just wanted to get back here and surprise you but I'll make it up to you, I swear."

The excitement in your eyes and the sweet sentiment made your heart swell. You had to hold back a smile but it was too strong and eventually appeared on your face.

"Y/n I'm so sorry that I forgot. I promise you that it wasn't intentional. We've all just been so busy lately, but still, that's no excuse for forgetting the most special day. You know how much I love you and care about you. I'm terribly sorry. Please forgive me."

You walked up to her and wrapped your arms around her causing her to let out a breath of relief. "Of course I forgive you. This is so sweet of you to do, Jade. Thank you."

She pressed her lips to yours and kissed you passionately, pecking them a few times before pulling away fully. "It's no problem at all. Anything for you." She grabbed the dessert and lit the candles before stepping behind you and resting her chin on your shoulder.

"Make a wish!"

You closed your eyes and blew out the candle. "What'd you wish for?" She tucked a lock of your hair behind your ear, looking at you with love in her eyes. "Nothing. All I wanted was you and you're here. I've got everything I want."

You could've sworn that you've never seen her smile bigger than she did in that very moment. She wrapped her arms around you and buried her face in your neck. "Happy birthday, beautiful. I love you so much."

"Thank you. I love you too, Jade." You felt her kiss your neck softly. At that moment, you knew that this truly had been the best birthday of your life, so far.
