Hinatid namin sa Medical Department yung Terrence at Gwen Squad. Nakasunod din si Veronica at dahil hindi naman s'ya kilala, halos lahat napapatingin sa kan'ya.
Unang beses nilang makikita si Veronica kaya normal lang na titingnan s'ya. At buti na lang sanay matingnan 'to si Veronica.
Nang makarating kami sa Medical Department doble ata ang naging gulat ni Doc. Shiela. Una sa injuries ng Gwen at Terrence Squad. Pangalawa, dahil nandito si Veronica.
"You're here? May nangyari ba?" Agad na tanong ni Doc. Shiela. "On second thought, sa kanila mo na sabihin." Biglang sabi n'ya at inutusan yung mga medical personnel na dalhin sa treatment area yung mga kasama namin.
"Alright, who gave Lana a dislocated shoulder?" Doctor Shiela asked with furrowed brows.
Nagkatinginan pa kami at kumibit balikat lang si Leni.
"That would be me."
Hindi ko napigilan yung panlalaki ng mata ko nang nagtaas ng kamay si Senri.
"For real?" Taas kilay na tanong ni Veronica.
"Oo nga daw diba? At nakita ko rin na sinipa n'ya sa balikat si Lana kanina eh." Sabi ni Vera.
Napatingin naman ako sa wall clock sa gilid at nang makita yung oras ay hinatak ko na si Veronica.
"Let's meet up in George's office in 30 minutes!" Pahabol na sabi ni Glen.
Matapos yun, narinig ko pa yung pananaway ni Senri dahil lantarang tinawag ni Glen si Lieutenant General sa pangalan lang.
"He's still...not calling his brother like how he should." Komento ni Veronica na lumingon pa sa Medical Department.
"Oh, let him be. Nasa kan'ya naman kung ano itinatawag n'ya sa kapatid n'ya. At hindi naman nagrereklamo yung Kuya n'ya." Sabi ko.
"I have pictures here."
"Huh? Let me see." Agad na sabi ko at inilahad yung palad ko.
"Not until you duel with me, Ate."
Napatigil ako sa paglalakad at nakita yung envelope na hawak n'ya. Tiningnan ko s'ya sa mata at ganun din ang ginawa n'ya. Kaya napabuntong hininga ako.
"I just tested the abilities of two squads."
"It was one-sided and it's not like you tested all twelve of them. Come on, ang KJ na nga ng mga kasama ko doon eh." Reklamo n'ya. "Or is it because you got weak with the spear?"
Ugh, this girl sure knows which buttons to push.
With a defeated sigh, I walked towards the nearest field. I can hear her humming gleefully and once I reached the center of the field, Veronica also stopped.
I can't believe that the first thing I'll do with my sister after seeing her again is spar with her.
"Well?" Veronica asked and pulled her necklace.
She spun the dangling design of her necklace and the next thing that happened was, a scythe almost as tall as her was in her hand.
Excitement was evident on her face when I removed the katana hanging on my waist.
Tiningnan ko s'ya habang nakahawak na yung kaliwang kamay ko sa kwintas ko pero tiningnan n'ya lang ako sa paraang hinihikayat akong ituloy. Kaya naman pinigtas ko na yung kwintas ko.
As soon as I spun the small spear attached to the metals of the necklace, it grew in size while the metal lace holding it in place wrapped around my ring finger. It only took barely a second for the spear in my necklace to grow almost as tall as me.
