I wasn't good with teamwork until I got along with Glen.
Sanay na ako dating kumilos mag-isa at kung meron akong makakasama, yun naman ay si Veronica.
We work well on or off the battlefield, of course since Veronica's my sister, but I never knew how better I can perform with someone until I worked with Glen. And when we did worked together, the performance of the Ruby Imperial Army against the vampires improved drastically.
General Nakatomi kept on sending me and Glen to missions together until we became the best pair in the battlefield. The best after me and my sister.
Glen's one of the strongest among the soldiers of the Ruby Imperial Army and I'm the fastest. Speed and strength really is a dangerous combination.
"I was damn shocked when I heard the vampires retreated. Hindi ko naman akalaing dahil sa inyong dalawa!" The Major General, and Ivan's older brother, Ethan Del Valle beamed. "Hindi man lang kayo nagsabing babalik kayo."
"We knew we're going back to Rubellite. Hindi lang namin alam na ngayon." Sagot ko.
"Wala namang sinabi na sa Headquarters kami dapat dumiretso kaya dito na kami bumaba." Sabi naman ni Glen. "And besides, your kids seemed like they needed help."
"Kids, yeah," the Major General chuckled, "they're still kids, literally. Pero, bumaba? Ang narinig ko tumalon kayo mula sa chopper! Baliw ba kayo?"
"Like that would kill us. Broken bones, yeah, but those puny injuries would heal in less than a day." Glen scoffed.
"Anyway, thanks for the help. That lessened the death count. Sige na, pumunta na kayo sa Headquarters, baka hinahanap na kayo ni General Nakatomi."
Bago kami tuluyang umalis sa tent kung saan kinakausap ng Major General yung mga squad leaders ay nag-man hug pa sila. Tinapik lang ako sa ulo ng Major General. At bago kami lumabas ay sumaludo kami sa kan'ya.
The rank Major General's the third highest, just under the rank Lieutenant General. Which makes him our superior.
"Sino yang dalawa?"
"Major yung babae at Lieutenant Colonel yung lalaki."
"Ha? Then that guy's the second son of the General? And the woman?"
"Girlfriend ata ng Lieutenant Colonel. But man, they sweeped the battlefield! Nag-retreat yung vampires dahil halos naubos nila!"
Kung anu-anong bulungan yung naririnig ko sa mga sundalo sa paligid. Yung ilan sa kanila binibigyan ng first aid kaya posibleng Witch, Wizard, o Cursed Blood Bearer lang sila.
"Mistress!"
"Master!"
Halos sabay kaming lumingon ni Glen at nakita ang dalawang lalaki na tumatakbo papunta sa amin.
"Master Glen, welcome back!"
"Mistress Allister, welcome back!"
Tiningnan ko lang yung Household Servant ng pamilya namin at taka s'yang tumingin sa akin.
"You mean, Mistress Nakatomi." May diing sabi ni Glen.
"I don't recognize your face." Sabi ko at hinawakan yung collar n'ya may family crest ng Allister. "But seeing this, I know you are an Allister Household Servant."
"I-I'm new, Mistress. Just 2 years ago."
"That explains why this little shit doesn't know you're married to me." Glen scoffed and turned to look at the Nakatomi Household Servant. "Where will General Nakatomi meet us?"
